What "non-boating" interests do you have?

Good thread! For me, in no particular order: 1. Being out on the water - C-Dory, kayak, inflatable, whatever 2. Dogs 3. Watching wild critters and birds 4. Reading - fiction mostly, non-fiction on foreign policy, military, intelligence, history, philosohy, religion 5. Kids - sharing time with...

Terraplane seeks help for "Cherish The Bay" tour

Hi Tom, I don't think Cutter monitors the site - I've never seen a post from them. You may have to give them a call to see if they are interested in providing a location. Got your info and will forward it to my brother-in-law at Chesapeake Bay Foundation on Monday. Best wishes,

Terraplane seeks help for "Cherish The Bay" tour

Wonderful idea Tom, and I'd love to participate in some way. Good talking to you today -- I will pass on the information you send to my brother-in-law who works with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. I wouldn't be surprised if they want to collaborate with your efforts. Best regards,

    Here we go again

Welcome to the site! We bought our 22 Cruiser from Cutter and I have nothing but good things to report about the purchase, outfitting, and maintenance experiences with them. They are a smaller operation than some, so scheduling maintenance work sometimes takes a little while if they are backed...

    01/13 - 01/15 - Seattle Boat Show/C-Brat Convention

Wish my chain saws and I were closer and could lend a hand. When Hurricane Isabel hit us here, my neighbor (who has a big truck) and I were the most popular guys on our street. We did a lot of work gratis and it really brought the whole neighborhood together. Good luck with that tree and the...

I think we need to submit that pic to Jeff for the C-Dory web site cover shot!

    Da Digs

That's cool Bill. Now if you could just draw in a couple Weimaraners and tractor in front, and a little-bitty C-Dory weather vane on top, you'd be all set! I love the look of the "peaked" gables and roof line - we're you going for the look of a C-Dory bow, or is that just a nice coindidence...

    "C-Dory RedFox" and her projects...

Great stuff RF. You're an inspiration to all do-it-yourselfers and customizers! Wish I had your skills. Best regards,

    December winner

That's right Steve. Great idea from Jeff and folks at C-Dory. Not bad marketing either -- I was jazzed when one of our photos from Nova Scotia was picked and directed a bunch of friends and family to the site to see it. Who knows -- maybe one of them will get the bug and we'll have another...

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

Just back from two days on the Otter. Plans to trailer down to the southern Chesapeake Bay were scuttled by the trailer brake being locked up and acting hinky (seems were were just discussing this phenomenon on another thread!), so I just dropped her in the water at my marina and headed south...

Anyone Own A 22 or 19 On The East Coast? (On the Chesapeake?

Tom, I have few days off and am heading out tomorrow to lower eastern shore. Want to see Tangier Island in the wintertime. Other than that, I haven't made any definite plans. Let me know if you are around and want to meet up on Thursday or Friday somewhere. Regards,

    A Dingy Thingy

We have an Innova (not the Helios but the Safari model). It is super sturdy and durable, and in my opinion worth the $$$. I wouldn't recommend the Safari as a dinghy, however, because it is self draining and causes a wet seat -- great for play, but not ideal for a paddle to shore in evening...

Just a note of thanks to Jeff for the jackets. Very nice - Kathy and I are enjoying them and wearing them with pride!

Single bunk used as a seat?

Joe, We had nine on board our 22 last summer for short trips out to islands in Maine -- four adults, three teenagers, and two little ones. Conditions in the bay were light wind and well spaced swells, and we got on plane without any difficulty. Steering is more sluggish and it feels like your...

    Welcome to the C-Brats!

Byrdman, Check www.washingtonmarina.com Transient slips available, located in southwest DC. Closest point to museums and DC attractions. Other options in area, but requiring a vehicle: Fort Washington Marina (MD), Columbia Island Marina (VA, near Pentagon), and our own Belle Haven Marina (VA...

    dunk your trailer axles...or not?

I got an email question: Why worry about the boat sliding around on the trailer on the road if its tied down at bow and stern? Very good question and made me realize that my greater concern is what happens at the ramp. Here's my response: You are absolutely right - when traveling, the boat...
