    Welcome to the C-Brats!

The story of Jane Usatin's trek by Waverunner from Canada to Mexico is here: http://www.pacificoceanrider.org/default.asp Way to go Jane! A C-Dory would postively luxurious by comparison! Welcome to the C-Brats. Are you planning any more adventures? And what kind of bikes do you own --...

    dunk your trailer axles...or not?

Capt Mac, I look at the wet brakes issue as just another operational cost that I would rather pay for than reduce the friction between my bunks and the boat. I don't like the idea of the boat sliding around up there when I don't want it to! Best regards,

    New TomCat 25

John -- thanks for the info. We sure enjoyed our week on Lake Winnepesaukee this summer and our visit to Y-Landing! Dusty -- that's exactly why Mrs. Callahan doesn't let me take my wallet to boat shows! Cheers,

    new c-dory owner i think

Congratulations! Don't know about the 115 - what is the weight difference between Suzuki 115 and Honda 90? And are there any insurance consequences to having horsepower above the manufacturer's recommended max? Am sure others on the site will have better info. Best wishes,

    Welcome to the C-Brats!

Met up with Redman yesterday for a cruise on the Potomac. Beautiful afternoon and calm water. We had to find a wake so I could tell him what all this talk about "pounding" was about! Stopped for a few minutes with the engine off and drifted, drank a beer, and talked about the C-Dory as the...

Anyone Own A 22 or 19 On The East Coast? (On the Chesapeake?

Anytime, Tom. I had Redman, from Arlington, out yesterday. Beautiful weather for a cruise, and I think he enjoyed having a chance to see how she operates. I've been wanting to trailer the boat down south and cruise around your area, which I've never done. If I get some time off and can do...

Just Another Great Daydream Weekend Overnighter!

Thanks for sharing your great weekend report Pat and Patty! So nice to think of you out there enjoying Daydream. We had lovely weather this weekend as well and I got out twice -- once with the girls and dogs, and once to show Redman (Mike) from nearby Arlington the 22 in action. I wasn't...

Anyone Own A 22 or 19 On The East Coast? (On the Chesapeake?

Tom, You're welcome anytime you want to come up to Alexandria for a cruise on the 22' If its blowing, the Potomac can give you a sense of that Chesapeake chop and you can see how the 22' handles in it. BTW- are you the same Tom Kline I know from the Senate? Best regards, Tom Callahan

    batteries/winter

When I got my boat in 2001, Cutter recommended a little solar panel for each battery, mounted on the motor well, that provides a little trickle that "conditions" the battery (I think those were his words). Don't know how much of a difference those have made, but I got four years out of my first...

    Newbie with questions!!!

Sorry Tin Lizzy - you were asking specifically about the 16' and I responded thinking 22' (which is what we have). Should have read more carefully!

    Newbie with questions!!!

Welcome aboard! Your questions: How big is the berth? Can Junior take a nap? Absolutely. We have an 8 year old and a 5 year old (4 and 1 when we got the boat), and having the enclosed cabin and berth has been a great advantage. Little 'uns don't tolerate getting cold, wet, or too much sun...

    opinions on this setup

Excellent summary, Sea Wolf! Cpt. Vic, no problem asking views - that's what this site is all about. You just happened to hit on a topic that's been a past favorite. Got my boat from Cutter in 2001 and have the same set up you do (but no trim tabs). The average depth of the Chesapeake is...

    Dock Safety

Things like that certainly do happen quickly, and they can happen even to the most experienced boaters. This summer I took out two friends for an evening cruise up to Georgetown. One is a retired command sergeant major from a special forces army unit, and the other is a retired Navy DevGroup...

Congratulations Wayne and Judie! Very exciting time -- time seems to go a bit more slowly when there is a boat on order. Look forward to meeting you one of these days. Best wishes,

Welcome Redman! You're just around the corner from me. I keep Otter at Belle Haven Marina, just south Old Town Alexandria on the GW Parkway. Let me know if you ever want a closer look or a cruise. Best regards,
