    New TomCat 25

Thanks Brydman. With a weight distributing hitch, my van is rated for 10,000 lbs. I would probably add a rear swaybar as well (something you might want to consider for your Excursion -- I've read that it makes a noticeable difference in ride and handling, but I can't say so from experience)...

    cooking with wallis

That does sound like its worth having the installer check it out. Would just add one thing in case you missed it in other threads about the Wallas: on mine I've learned to turn it on (1) with the engine running and (2) with the knob turned all the way to the highest heat level. Once its going...

C-Dory 22 and how they ride?

For small kids, the high freeboard in the cockpit of the 22 is great. They really have to climb to be at risk back there. Because it has a full bilge, the 25 actually has less freeboard. However, in every other respect, a family of four weekending on the boat will be more comfortable on the...

Is there any problems taking a dog into Canada ?

The border folks care about rabies, but you should also make sure your pup is current on bordatella (the vaccination against prevent kennel cough) and have a record of it in case you need to board him somewhere for a day or two. Most vets / kennels won't take a dog without it.

    New TomCat 25

You read me right, Tyboo and Pat! I love our 22 (just back from a great week of cruising around Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire), but that TomCat has established a firm foothold in my imagination. On of the other areas of information I will be looking for is towing and launching. One of...

    A Plan Forming!

This is the old adage about good deeds coming back to you ten-fold. This is a wonderful possibility for summer 2006. It is also the germ of a great idea that I hadn't even considered when we offered the Otter to Pat and Patty for a Chesapeake cruise: C-Dory "Buddies" who live in different...

    C-Dory Sightings

I helped Steve and Cathy Hantzas launch their new 25' (named "Catleen") today at Belle Haven Marina in Alexandria. They live nearby and had been eyeing my Otter for a while before they took the plunge. A beautiful boat. They will be keeping her in DC at Washington Marina.

Just posted a bunch of photos. Folks will have to fill in names that I missed. What a great time! Thanks to all. Just got home from work and hauled the boat out. Don't know how you got it so clean, Pat and Patty! Otter was very happy and says you can come take her on a cruise anytime! All...

Just waiting for Pat and Patty to arrive and then we'll be on our way. Expect traffic over the bridge, but we'll get there! See you all tonight - hope Tom saved up some of those banjo songs!

    newbe Question

Guts, There are others on this site with a lot more offshore experience in the C-Dorys than I, and I hope they weigh in. My experience was in the ocean off Nova Scotia last year, and I was struck by how well our 22-footer performed in large swells that were more widely spaced than the short...
