Very compact crab traps that still WORK

Just to follow up on my last post. I've seen these crab rings in person at the sportsman show and I think would be ideal for the c-dory. Especially if a guy wanted to always have one or two on board at all times. They are light and when folded are no bigger round than a 5 gallon bucket. Infact...

    tax refund

Yes, it's too bad they had to borrow the money to give back to us. Seems like a simple tax credit would of been more cost effective but then again I've never stayed at a holiday inn so what do I know.

    West Marine 2008 Prices

No problem with the boat moving. Infact I could back down a boat ramp without anything holding the boat on and it still woudn't come off. I actually was hoping for more slip than it provided but maybe I needed more applications? The trouble is the trailer needs to be dry when you apply it. I...

    Surge break and backing up.

I have a king marine trailer with surge breaks. It has a reverse soleniod that senses the backup lights of the tow rig and is suppose prevent them from activating when backing up. I think it used to work when new but can't remember. Anyway, I have to get out and manually block the surge brakes...

    Trailer Bearings

There's more than one flavor/brand of "bearing buddies". King marine installs a type of bearing saver that looks like bearing buddies but work completely different. They do indeed get grease to the back bearing. It is my understanding that actual bearing buddies do not. EDIT: found this on...

    West Marine 2008 Prices

Bunk trailers. I used it on mine but didn't really notice much difference other than the boat squeeks now when I pull it on the trailer. Maybe I'm not using enough?

    C80 woes

Steve, let us know what you find out. I noticed you have a flushbag. How is that working out? I picked up one for my kicker motor off ebay but have not had a chance to try it out. I was thinking about getting one for the main. Looks like a tight fit. Spencer

    C80 woes

I would recheck the gps connection on the back of the c-80. Sometimes if it's cold I have a hard time getting them tight.

What kind of error message are you getting?

    C80 woes

Have you checked your battery voltage lately? THe c-80 is very sensistive to low batteries. Just a thought. Otherwise I don't have a clue as to why you would get system errors.

    Twin 50's Filter/Separator

twin 50's should burn the same as a single 90 so one filter will work fine. I'd keep the tanks plumbed on the switch so you can choose which tank to run on.

    Honda / Racor filter interchange?

I'm not sure why your mechanic want's to bypass the fuel switch. I like the choice of burning off one tank first if I need to balance weight ect. Anyway, I have a honda 90 running on one racor rt10 filter. Since the twin setup does not burn any more fuel than a single 90, it would be my...

    paper charts vs: navionic chips

Paper or plastic. Hmmm. I chose plastic. In my opinion, if your going to rely on paper charts you better be an expert at actually reading them and understanding how to use them to navigate. It's a mystery to me how to do that. I was reading where you have to account for magnetic variation...

    New 22 cruiser for me?

If it helps any I just got back from the sportsmans show here in portland. There was a new 22 cruiser there for about 54k. It was pretty stock. No radar arch or radar, no windlass. It did have twin 40's on it and a garmin chartplotter, and wallas stove. Can't remember if there were trim tabs or...

    New 22 cruiser for me?

He bought the angler version so his pricing would be less. Also it doesn't sound like he bought much in the way of electronics or a radar arch but maybe he can clear that up. There are so many little things that can add up and comparing one price to another can be difficult unless you get a...

    New 22 cruiser for me?

You should at least have a kicker for back up power. Also, the anchor on a boat is a safety item and not just for mooring. Should you loose power at an inconvient time it could be quicker and safer to drop anchor rather than drift into rocks, ect. I would think that adding the windlass later...
