    Furuno 10 inch display on a 22

I have the Raymarine c-80 and feel that that size is perfect for the 22. I don't think I would like a larger screen there. The c-80 can have many customized screens so if I want to read the numbers from the cockpit I put up a screen like this: Maybe Furuno can do similar stuff?

    Windlass rode or chain counter

Wow, I didn't even know there was such a thing. I "painted" rings on my rode using that liquid plastic that's made for dipping tool handles in. Every fifty feet gets an additional "band", so 100 feet has 2 bands, 150 has 3 ect...

    Would You Ever Repower a 22' With a 60 Horse Outboard ?

A person could actually get worse gas milage with the smaller motor if it has to run at a higher RPM to do the same job. Probably wouldn't if used in the manner described above but I would never consider buying 22 with anything less than a single 90. Sometimes I wish I had more power for my off...

TC 255 Trailer, How "Slick" should it be?

I don't have a cat but judging by the crease in the fabric on those bunks I'm wondering if it's a good idea to have all the boats weight sitting on plastic strips rather than the softer fabric. I've thought about using something similar for my 22 but since it's not a cat the weight would be...

New Cabin Cruiser from Seaway Boats

I don't like their profile. They look like they are sinking.

    Honda 50 & 8 hp Costs

I may be wrong but I would assume the final price on motors would very depending on if you are buying a boat with them or just motors. If the honda 8hp you are referencing is the classic model then I would think 2.8k is high. There's nothing fancy about the motor so it shouldn't cost 1/3rd the...

    self-bailing?

My bet is on the water tank but get the dealer involved. There should never be water in the cabin unless you put it there or there was some extreme condensation going on.

    tough economic times

It's official, the economy has definitely tanked. For proof, I offer my inability to sell a Futon off craigslist. Things are so bad in fact, I don't even get overseas offers from wealthy sheiks seeking my "item". :smilep

    Honda Generator.

No problem Caty. Glad it works for you. Now you can use that money on some fishing stuff. Oh, we went sturgeon fishing in the willamette this afternoon and managed only one measuring 35 inches. Nice day though. There was no parking in the parking lot at cathedral park. Lot's of boats out there...

    22' Cruiser vs 23' Venture

Bob, thanks for clarification on the Honda Pilot. I was beginning to think there was something wrong with my Ford. Couldn't imagine towing the 25 with it. LOL The only time I've taken water over the stern is when I'm halibut fishing and backing into the current. I've never felt uncomftable...

    tough economic times

I'm not an expert on oil prices but it seems to me that prices are driven by the people buying oil futures. But I don't know how it works. I do find it interesting that when an oil rig looses a bearing that the gasoline that's already in a tanker truck on it's way to the filling station all of...

    22' Cruiser vs 23' Venture

Thataway, I'm impressed that you can tow the 25 with a honda pilot but then I realized your in Florida..... No mountains. There is no way I could tow the 25 with my sporttrac over the coast range with that. Lucky you. Anyway's I think the beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I truly believe...

    22' Cruiser vs 23' Venture

I agree with Les. They are similar boats but for many of us, the 23 crosses over to a different level of boat. For people with big tow rigs I don't think it's as obvious but for many people the 22 cruiser is the only 22 foot cabin cruiser around that we can tow with a mid sized SUV. The 23...

    Rod Holders

LOL, I had to read your post twice. I thought you wanted fishing style rod holders installed INSIDE. Sorry, can't help you on that one. I have seen photo's in someones album where they drilled holes in the face of the overhead shelf up near the helm. They were big enough for the butt of the...

    Storing Stern Anchor on CD22

Can't help you on where to store an anchor but I have contemplated getting a second anchor that collapses. I've found a couple. One is the folding box anchor. Cabelas sells them. They are not cheap. Or there's this one too. THey call this one a "Greenfield Wavestake Folding Anchor"...

    Predicting the Weather

I used to use the NOAA forecast but found that it isn't always very accurate or at least it doesn't give a good local idea of what's going on. There's about 4 things I look at when contemplating my offshore fishing trips. First is the swell height, then the period between them. A 6 foot swell...

    fuel water separators

Larry, My dealer installed the plastic bowl type in my lazzerette. I don't doubt your assertion that they should be installed in the motorwell however my guess is the spirit of the coastguards rule has more to do with keeping these filter type's from being installed in motor compartments like...

    fuel water separators

If your plastic bowl is like mine you can drain the bowl with the valve that's at the bottom before unscrewing the filter. I had a hard time seperating the bowl from the filter. The bowl would turn but it was just slipping around the plastic part with the threads that's screwed onto the filter...

    Lower unit lube

Do the torque wrenches come with screw driver tips or just socket type? THe Honda's don't have a hex hed type screw but do have a philips head. Makes it hard to loosen them it seems.
