    How to Buy on Ebay

I have bought many expensive items on eBay without too much trouble. Sometimes you win big (2000 diesel F250 crewcab with 85k for $8k), other times you lose (TRS lower unit covered in bondo and fresh paint over deep corrosion). Pay by credit card so you can get a refund in case of fraud...

    portable refrigerator 12V DC/110V AC

We have a Coleman 12V cooler we bought at Wall-Mart for the truck. It also have a 110V adaptor and claims to lower temps by 30 degrees. We fill it the night before a trip and plug it into the house, that way it is already cold when you leave in the morning. It isn't perfect, but then it only...

    White bilge paint?

Rustoleum gloss garage floor coating is a two part epoxy. I coated the floors and floorboards on my Campbell restoration this summer and it was easy to put down, easy to clean up and has been oil proof and water proof so far. It is cheaper than the Marine coatings and is available at Lowe's and...

    100 to 102 LL gasoline

Just remember that 100 LL avgas has 2 to 3 times the lead of leaded race gas. It's only low lead compared to the old 135/145 octane gas used in radials and warbirds. Having said that I doubt that 20 gallons blended with unleaded would do any harm.

    Bunk carpet in long lengths

Thanks Harvey, I saw that the main warehouse was out of stock, but never thought to call other stores. I will give that a try on Monday.

    Bunk carpet in long lengths

Does anyone know of a source for bunk carpet in longer than 12' pieces? The bunks on my trailer are 13' 2.5" and I can't find any suitable carpet in over 12'. I was looking for blue, but at this point I will take whatever i can get.

Let's play what's in this fuel sample?

Be aware that the LL in 100LL stands for low lead, however it means low lead compared to standard aviation gasoline. Thus 100LL has more lead in it it than the high octane racing fuel sold back in the good old days at places like Sunoco (remember Sunoco 260!!?) this will really mess up a new EFI...

    Adopted a C-Dory

I can totally relate to what you are doing since I am in the final stages of a similar restoration of a 24 foot boat too. It is a lot of work, but there is something truly satisfying about fixing things as opposed to replacing them. Nothing is better for the soul than applying tools and talent...

    Lake Powell 2009

Regarding Chris's post: the Basha's market just off the main road in Wahweap is now closed. The Safeway is still open in town. The fuel at the Maverick station on the highway seems to have good fuel prices.

    Lake Powell 2009

We returned from a short (2 night) houseboat rental on Lago De Paulo last night. The water level in still up the, some 30 feet above the minimum needed for the castle Rock cut, and there are lots of sandy beaches. We stopped in Dungeon canyon (mile 36) and in Kane Wash at the top of Padre Bay...

Resins - A Little Off Topic

If you are serious about using resin, Tap Plastics carry a water clear Polyester resin designed for surfboards. I am using their stuff on my Campbell restoration and am VERY happy with the performance.

    Lake Powell 2009

I have had good experiences with Discount Tire/America's Tire. They are very common here in the Southwest and offer a good road hazard warranty. Now that we will be trailering north into Nevada and Idaho, I wonder if they are there too?

    c-dory warrenties worthless?

Thanks for the link, Pat. It seems, as you said, that it was before I began to frequent this site. It also seems that there are those here that are more than willing to call a spade a Got Dam Shovel..... You should all be commended.

    c-dory warrenties worthless?

I have a question about this "nightmare" and "cheerleading". I am not a C-dory owner and if this is out of line please tell me as I assure you all that my feelings are not easily hurt. Anyway, here goes: When this "nightmare" was occurring, why didn't anyone tell people? Was this many years...

    Radar units.

You might want to look at the new broadband type units. They claim higher resolution, lower power draw and much lower radiation hazard.

    TPMS

Man, it must take you forever to make a trip, just the drive from my home in Tucson to my place in LA is 530 miles, that's 50+ stops!! Figure on a minimum for 5 minutes to slow the truck and trailer, get out run around shooting all the wheels and then accelerating up to speed again. 5X50= 250...
