Hi Tom, Too much math for me. lol. I just know my heavy CD-22, had no problem hitting 5-6 mph with a Tohatsu 6. Point being, I believe a 6hp can do a fine job of moving a 22' C-Dory at hull speed. :-)

I had a Tohatsu 6hp kicker on my 22. Even running heavy, it could push me at hull speed of about 5-6mph. This was also in 1 ft of chop. I had used it in some larger 2 foot waves while trolling as well. Until you get enough HP to get up on plane, a larger kicker is not going to gain you any...
