Honda BF100 hose clamp on flush port connector hose..?

I was flushing my motor and the flushing port hose blew right off the hose barb hold it onto the engine. I re-attached it and noticed there was no hose clamp (maybe it fell in the water). I'm assuming there should be one there? There is one on the end that connects to the garden hose. You know...

    New high (low?) for C-Dorys?

That seems incredibly low. Perhaps one of the best deals ever, but not the norm. I have also seen 16's in great condition selling in the low 20's..

    New high (low?) for C-Dorys?

Are they actually going up in value? And if so, will that continue in a recession? (I don't think so).

back-upl ights on trailers? 5-prong plug

Hey all, I have new trailer for a 22' Cdory, with hydraulic surge brakes. It has a 5-prong plug, my tow vehicle has a 4-prong plug. Am I correct in assuming the 5th prong is for back-up lights? If so, do 22' trailers usually have back-up lights? (Previously I have only has a 16' trailer...

Age old fuel consumption question - with a twist

I see that planing flattens the curve so to speak. It also seems true that the lowest speed that keeps you on place is the best mileage.(?) I think the reason planing doesn't make a big difference over displacement speeds is that the C-Dory hull design is already giving you a benefit at...

    Overheating Outboard on Flushing Muffs

I've had the hose valve half open before, and not enough water to get a good pee stream. I'd open it fully. I had this same problem once. The 2006 Honda 9.9 just got back from the shop, in perfect condition, running like a top. The muffs somehow slid out of place a bit. When the alarm went off...

Sealing Thru-hull fasterners in fiberglass over wood

Hi Bob, No, not screwing on the bottom of the hull. This is for adding UHWM. Refer back to the original post for a full description. The UHMW plastic sheet method is debated among drift boat people. On the one hand, it is superior abrasion resistance. On the other hand, attaching in to the...

    Motor controls cable sleeves?

When I go my C dory, it had a foam sleeve over the steering and throttle cables in the splash-well. But the sleeve was falling apart so I removed it. It looked similar to foam pipe insulation, and was zip-tied around the cable bundle. What is it's purpose? Should I bother trying to replace it?

    Stiff steering (cable)

My 1996 16' Cruiser has stiff steering. For about two years in a row, after a summer/fall season of use, the following spring I found the steering frozen up. I had to beat on it a bit to break it free, spray lube in there, work it back and forth, then add grease. After that, I added this...

Sealing Thru-hull fasterners in fiberglass over wood

This is a wood drift boat, with a fiberglass exterior layer only. AKA "fiberglass over wood". So there is no "core" or inner layer of glass. I'll take some pics

Sealing Thru-hull fasterners in fiberglass over wood

Epoxy Plugs: Hey everyone- I like the idea of the screws going into epoxy (or two-part polyurethane) plugs. This way, no screw penetrates into wood, and the interface between wood and fiberglass would be sealed off as well. The previous screws were #10 x 3/4" long. #10 screws are...
