What’s it like on lake powell lately?

Sorry- by "rainfall" I mean annual precipitation, which includes the snow. Thataway - the answers are within the sources I posted. The damn building frenzy is mentioned in the books. I recall hearing that a very large proportion of all US dams were built within few decades. Because I don't...

What’s it like on lake powell lately?

Hi Thataway, I highly recommend checking out "Cadillac Desert", either in book form or the video documentary. Fascinating stuff that's right under our noses that most people don't know about. It's a four hour documentary, I watched it in three sittings... they talk about the era of dam building...

What’s it like on lake powell lately?

In this case I think there is a lesson. The mentality at the time of the dam building craze was.. well.. a "craze". I think greed and gang mentality were at play. There were two major mistakes: (a) They overlooked the need for good data and analysis - they only used rainfall data going back a...

    Deadhead

Does anyone the details around what a hydraulic tilt motor will do if it hits something large? Is thee some kind of pressure relief valve that allows it to tilt out of the way and not rip your transom off?

    22' Angler Seating Questions

Gotcha! So you don't have the 22 Angler anymore? So by "no backrests" I assume you mean the v-berth bulkhead and the rear cabin bulkhead were the seat backs? But no cushion?

    22' Angler Seating Questions

I'm curious, in the photos your boat looks like a 22 Cruiser to me?

    Deadhead

It would be totally voluntary. No liability. I wonder if the logging industry takes any responsibility?? There are so many other examples of people/corporations held responsible for just one mistake that causes injury/death/property damage!!

    22' Angler Seating Questions

I have a question about 22' Anglers. The current C-Dory website "floorplan" shows 1 seat on the passenger (port) side, facing forward. However, I have seen some (Mid-1980's models) that have 2 seats on the port side facing each other with a little table between them. Was this a factory option...

    Deadhead

Spotted a deadhead off Ediz Hook (Port Angeles) this weekend. At first it looked like some kind of Bouy. It was bobbing slowly in the waves/swell, and would sometimes disappear underwater momentarily. I'm curious: (1) Does anyone know where they come from and how they end up suspended...

What’s it like on lake powell lately?

The predictions I have read say Powell is a goner. The dam was built by during an era of dam-building frenzy, based on a very short window of rainfall data, and even that was a questionable analysis.

Where to put VHF in 16' Cruiser

    Thanks for the advice!

Where to put VHF in 16' Cruiser

I'm installing a new VHF into a 16' Cruiser. An obvious place to put it would be on top of the horizontal flat surface forward of the steering wheel. BUT, I find that to be a very useful place to put other stuff, and the VHF rarely gets used. Could in go vertically mounted on the vertical...

    Here They Come

Why elec motors are superior (1) Elec motors have peak torque at 0 rpm (when it is most useful/needed). (2) 1/3 as many moving parts.

    16 vs 19 vs 22

Oops, I may be mistaken about the top of the companionway being "open".. I think they were on some older models? [img]https://www.bdoutdoors.com/forums/threads/22-c-dory-angler-for-sale.560683/img]

    16 vs 19 vs 22

The V-birth on the Angler is the same as the 22, access via the companionway, unless it has been modified. I don't think it would work like the 16, except there is no sitting with comfortable headheight. Thanks Hardee! So then, the 19A and 22A will both have the same companionway? If so...

    16 vs 19 vs 22

BTW, Those who have experience with a 22Angler, is the berth open to the cabin? If so, does it work as a seating option like in the 16 cruiser?

    16 vs 19 vs 22

Hi, I have experience with both the 16 Cruiser and Angler. The Angler is 2 people max unless you add seats. But what I like about the Cruiser is that the berth is open to the cabin, and a 3rd person can sit on the edge of the sleeping platform facing aft. By comparison, a 19' does not offer...
