1987 22 Cruiser Lazarette cover replacement

Check out pages 3&4 on Snoopy-C photo album. Had same exact covers, and this shows the steps I took to complete lazarette replacement. Came out well. http://www.c-brats.com/modules.php?set_ ... _photo.php

Can I put a Honda 90 extra long shaft on my 22 cruiser.

I wouldn’t do it. I knew of a Hewescraft that was fitted with an extra long shaft Suzuki on a jackplate to put the cavitation plate in the correct area. Even with that, the boat porpoised due to the different moment arm of the xtra long shaft motor. The boat was refitted with an etec of the...

    Secondary Steering Station

Check my album “snoopy-c” I added a 2nd hem to both Snoopy -C and C-Miner. Had hydraulic steering with 2nd pump on each and full shift and throttle controls, as well as trollmaster electric throttle control on kickers on each. Worked great. Pictures show some of the plumbing under the stove area.

    16 Cruiser Prop

4400 rpm is taxing the motor. It needs to be able to turn the 5200 or so rpm, even if you do not run it there. Perhaps the new prop you have on order will do it. Hopefully it will not allow too high revs

15 1/4 x 17 would probably give less speed and reduced rpm = less efficiency

    motor not resting on transom?

My 22 angler had the 90 honda setting on the transom. Then I checked alignment of the cavitation plate with the boat bottom. It was setting at least 2 bolt holes too low (1 1/2”) on the transom. When I raised it 2 holes it was closer to level with boat bottom. It also performed better. Just...

    Hydraulic Steering with Twin Hondas

I’d pull the wedges and leave one side of the tie rod jam nut loose so the rod can pivot on the threads.

    Cdory 16 Repower

Maybe I am going against the flow, but a F70 yamaha is a great solid engine that is light. It is nice to have more hp that is unneeded, so the engine can be used without taxing. On rare occasions the extra hp can be useful. If the larger hp engine is used judiacly, I see it as a reasonable...

    Gauges don’t work....

The tach wires come from a plug on the binnacle control box. There are usually 3 or 4 wires there, and sometime can pull apart when you are working on wires under the fuse panel.

    Uncle Norm's Orca Fin

Any deep v boat will control better than a c-dory doing docking maneuvers, although having trim tabs at full down will improve the docking control. With that same full down tab on deep v’s you can often turn around the nose of the boat. I have had many boats with deep v and 4 c-dories. I still...

Choice Of Depth Sounder, And Location of Transducer

If you see a properly trimmed-dory at running speed, of there is air beneath the captains feet area. You will get better results near the rear bulkhead or nearer the transom. I had an actual thru Hull on Snoopy-C under the sink area, and removed it and put a transom mounted transducer, with...

    Fuel tank vents

I bought vent assemblies that had a built-in loop in the hardware. A heavily loaded c-dory with oem vents pointing downward will allow water intrusion in rough seas. I also put an upward loop in the bilge line so it would stop inflow under similar conditions. It keeps the floor dry unless it is...

    Honda 90 Oil Pressure

Check oil hot or cold with engine off. Oil level may be a bit higher when warm if engine has been stopped long enough to drain back from the working parts.

US/CANADA BORDER WILL STAY CLOSED UNTIL...

I hate the term Libtard from republican name callers, thinking they are better than folks who are open minded and deal with facts, rather than bs. Our current pres is a bs artist, who pedals bs rather than facts. It has presented a poor example to those who like to put others down. What happened...

    Shaft length range for kicker

The vibration is worse if you are trolling. At higher rpms it is not that noticeable. I agree though for slower speeds

Your Experiences - single with kicker | single w/o kicker

Those older outboards were usually 2 strokes, with lower compression, resulting in an easier pull. We were also much younger and stronger😎

Your Experiences - single with kicker | single w/o kicker

If you fish, a 9.9 or other 2 cylinder engine is much smoother than a single cylinder, and it will troll down to about 1 mph which is not easily done with a large motor. . I also like the electric start on my yamaha, since the 2 cylinder motors are not that easy to rope start (hard pull). If...
