How much chain can a CD 25 carry comfortably

I've searched the archives and read all that comes up. I'm switching to all chain rode with my 22 Delta. I mainly cruise Florida but want to trailer to other unknown locations (not PNW or Alaska). My windlass is set up for 1/4 inch and I would like 75-100 ft. of chain with 3 strand backup. 1/4...

    Key West Input Please

We have trailered to different parts of the keys several times with different boats and enjoyed them all. We think head-quartering near Marathon works best for us. All needed services available, easy commute to Key West either by boat or car (or island bus). Also easy commute to Islamorada, Key...

Expensive Permits for Photography on Federal lands???

These people have nothing to do with being environmentalists. They are trying to control every aspect of our lives without us having a vote. This is just another in a long list of tyrannical regulations by this government. Contact your reps and senators and take as many pics on PUBLIC LAND as...

    New C-Dory Owner

Welcome to the group. I think there's a good case to be made for the C-Brats site being the single best accessory a boat owner could have. As a long time lurker and recent new owner, we share your excitement. Bob & Cynthia

    CD factory fire question

This question is being asked out of innocent ignorance. Does anybody know if CD parts and decals and other aftermarket factory stuff was in the same building or if there is an office/store site that might have survived? I've been waiting to order some items until I was ready but would gladly...

Moving back down in size - lets hear from you.

We've had power and sail boats up to 44' and lived aboard full time for 12 yrs. We now have a CD 25 and have never been happier or had more fun with a boat. No more diving to clean running gear, no more leaky canvas. Perfect boats for gunkholing or a quick fun boat ride. I agree with George too.

    Sleeping comfort on 25

We bought the 25 for the same reason. I'm 6'4" 210lbs and I can sleep on the port side of the V-berth just fine. We also chose not to cut the bulkhead and have no trouble getting in and out once you develop the right moves.

We now have our new CD 25

Well it finally happened. Today we actually took possession of our own CD-25 "Alexander". It arrived on a trailer from up north. Now we just have to get a trailer and swap cars to get something to tow it with, but in the mean time we already had a nice ride and anchored out as we explored the...

One more CD 25 Towing help thread please.

Sounds like the plan is ok. Keep the boat light enough and have good trailer brakes and we should be fine. We've towed other heavy loads so this won't be a first.

One more CD 25 Towing help thread please.

Howdy, We've been gone a while but are back. We are readying our Mainship Pilot 30 and existing vehicle for sale, as well as preparing to buy a CD 25 and a tow vehicle as soon as they sell. The problem is that where we live (condo in Stuart Fl) doesn't allow pickup trucks and RV's to be parked...

Hotel suggestions for the Florida Keys

We've enjoyed the Sailfish Motel in Islamorada. Less expensive than most, older place but very clean and kept up. They have their own launch ramp and trailer storeage lot. Walk to Loreli's restaurant on the beach for best sunsets ever and a great shrimp salad. Have fun, Bob

    Is AIS in the house?

Hi Bob , I agree with your points. My discussion was relevant to the free apps not real AIS. I do not use the Apps for my nav tool while underway. My area (Stuart,Fl.) includes 98% private vessels and very little fog problem and mostly daytime ICW travel. I have not used real AIS so I defer...

    Is AIS in the house?

As I stated in an earlier post, I don't use (or need ) this app for navigation. It's main use to me is to show my position to my son with whom I always share my cruising plans (and vice versa), . It provides a position and track so he always knows where we are in case of trouble. For my phone to...

    Is AIS in the house?

I must qualify my last post. In the free version there is a 5 min refresh delay but there are pay versions with much less delay and more info. I don't have any experience with the pay versions. There is a companion app called IAIS the transmits your (Cell Phone's) position and it will show your...

C-Dory adventure book for sale cheeep.

I bought ($10) a hardcover copy of " River Horse" and have read it and would like to pass it on to another CD fan. It is in nearly like new condition and has photos and maps of the author's journey from the Atlantic Ocean across the US to the Pacific Ocean in a CD-22. It's a lot of fun. I will...

    C-Dory 25 question from newby

Thank you all. I have had my cranial modification from several boats and immediately remove the button from any new hat before I'll wear it. I used to use foam pipe insulation like you suggest using the noodle. We will attempt to find a nice 25 owner and try one on as soon as we can. The 6'10"...
