    Shrimping Puget Sound 2011

Leaded line is for crab pots when you're only handling it in 75' coils. I just use 5/16 3 braid polyprope clipped together in 200' lengths and clip a 2lb sinker on the last 100' to sink it. :) I store it , on hose reels, but when I'm pulling it lays in the bottom of the boat. Wear gloves and...

Target shooting-carrying firearms on the boat

No,No,No, Warren... Can't shoot them. You have to arrest them so they can have their day in Federal Court, with a tax payer funded, court appointed lawyer. :sad

    What's in YOUR toolbox?

Most outboards have a spacer behind the prop. It will stick to the back of the prop long enough for the prop to clear the shaft. Then the next thing you hear is PLOP ! :crook I carry a spare.."Any thing you can drop in the water while changing a prop". Be it nut, cotter pin, washer, or...

Best Time To Drive up the California Coast

Be sure and check the rental car companies policy on taking the car out of state. :? As I remember most of US Hwy 1 north of San Francisco was a very windy road 1/2 a mile in from the water with mostly obscured vision. :sad After one frustrating trip, we would always go up to Eureka before...

    Garage Tool Info Request

Like someone said, "Start with a solid work bench." I found a surplus 8'x3' solid core door worked just fine and the hole for the handle is where the hose comes up from the compressor. Jack :smiled

    Canvas fastback?

A "Slant Back" is the only canvas I have on my 16 as I use it primarily for a mooring cover. I did have a large window added in the back incase I ever had to run with it on. Jack :smiled

    Crab allocation for sport fishing.

Can't say I blame them for "Making Hay While The Sun Shines". I always try to make sure I justify the $100.00 I pay for my license up there. Largest crab I caught this summer was 8 3/4". Jack :smiled

    Crab allocation for sport fishing.

Lyle, Question of interest...Was everyone who had a license pulling their own traps? I saw a fellow ticketed last year for pulling traps on his kids and wife's license. :? Also was anyone adhearing to the part about saving back shells until you get home? ICH !! We would all have to...

    Ideas on swim ladder..?

Hi, Take a look at the ladder I put on Pocket Yacht. It extends well below the water for easy access, yet folds and stows out of the way. I especially chose it because of the high hand holds. So many ladders have nothing to hold onto when you exit the water. Jack :smiled
