    letter size boat name

Bob, :) We always keep the I.F.F. Transponder on. In these times it keeps "Frendly Fire" to a minimum. You know how sinister a 16' C-Dory looks. :wink

    letter size boat name

Boat Name letters.... Oh, Oh....You've just rung my bell. My two big peeves are...Your countries flag flown incorrectly and boat names that cannot be read over 50' away. :sad I don't care what you want to call your boat, if I can read it. No fancy squiggles, or non-contrasting back...

What anchor roller for 16 Angler

I don't remember the brand, all I remember was it's a really close fit and the mini-plow was the only thing that fit into it. To tell the truth, it's never been in the water. If I were river fishing, I'd use a mushroom. Take a look at the pictures of Pocket Yacht...I picked a lot of brains...

    16' Angler questions.

That's OK Marty, :wink I'll just hang a second 40hp. on the transom, then the water will drain back to the sump that's too shallow for any pump to work properly in it. :sad Marty...Where were you when Fluid Marine needed you?

    16' Angler questions.

Hi Connie, Pocket Yacht is a 1988 package and both my 40hp and 6hp are running strong on 50 to 1 mix (250 K-miles this summer). A good 2 cycle will last a long time if given proper care. As for that drain plug in the cabin sole. Leave it in place if the boat is used un-covered in the rain...

    16' Angler questions.

Personally I found it a little spooky being on the 16's bow without a rail :smileo Rail Makers N/W in Everett made mine. They make them for C-Dory and have the patterns. :smiled Jack

    Dirty Secret about LEDs

I haven't seen them in a long time, but back when I worked on aircraft, we had "non-insulated" splices...Those were the ones we used heat shrink on (less bulky). :smiled Jack (Also)

    Dirty Secret about LEDs

Wrap the splice with Teflon Tape, slide the heat shrink over it and then use a heatgun until the teflon melts and starts to ooze out of the ends of the shrink. FAA aproved and cheap to do. :wink

    Laptop Dies

I use a laptop with Capn's Voyager for a chart plotter and recently, on long trips, I found the computer battery would die. :crook This unit is hooked into the 12VDC charging circuit of my 40 Evinrude and I think the line loss, what with upping the voltage to 18VDC and keeping the computer...

    Launching without a loading dock

This is the only down-side I've found to the C-Dory. I found to my dismay :disgust ....There don't seem to be any launch floats left on the Skagit River. :smileo Seems past floods have taken them out. :smilep There goes my Pink fishing for this year. :sad That's what happens when you miss...

    Like a cork !

Running down the channel, on the way back in from fishing Thursday, I had to pass one of the local tugs. I knew the wake would be big, so I took it slowly...WOW!!! Buried the bow right to the windshield  ,but she popped right up, just like a cork. Glad it was my brother with me and not...

    IT'S SO CUTE!!!

It's so cute..Aarrgh!!! In two months we put over 200 miles (GPS Recorder) exploring the Broughton Islands, Desolation Sound and the San Juans with Pocket Yacht this summer and every where we went it was the same. I wish people would just say, "That's a nice looking boat."...

    Towing a 16

Tom, We're in Greenway Sound right now. Most of the way we traveled at 7-8 knots to conserve fuel. We pushed up to our cruising speed of 12 knots just to cross the straits and run rapids. If I ever change the name of the C-Dory it will be to "Pull Toy"...It's been a delight to own. :smiled...

    Towing a 16

Installed another bow eye right at the water line and tried it out this trip. On a short tow the 16 rides right on plane and tracks straight. So far it feels lighter than the Whaler ever did (picture in -09 album) :thup Jack

I Did a Double Take When I Saw This

Pat, I hope you got to it in time to save your canvas. :smileo Pocket Yacht came through OK because of the "Sloped" canvas. That wet snow didn't do the big boat any good though. Oh well after over 15 years it was time to replace canvas anyway. When I had the canvas replaced I also had a large...
