    Upper Mississippi River planning

I live in Prescott, Wi. at mile 811.5. You should really try to make it up this far. From here you can visit St. Paul and little river towns up the St. Croix River too. We'll be glad to advise on places up here but things do slow down in Sept. One great resource for the Upper Miss. is Not For...

    Suzuki 115 Overheat Nuisance Trips

I just googled "suzuki outboard overheat alarm" and saw lots of threads on the 115. It also reminded me that it was a flashing oil light sevice reminder not an alarm buzzer. Sorry!

    Suzuki 115 Overheat Nuisance Trips

I seem to remember a friend of mine having a similar alarm scenario. He ended up delaying his vacation and took it to a dealer only to find out it was a normal service reminder that used the same alarm as the temp buzzer. Just a stab in the dark.

Let's play what's in this fuel sample?

I guess my dogged interest in this thread is that I have had the exact same problem and I don't want it again, so please forgive the nit-picking. My tanks are plastic, my lines are rubber and the fittings are stainless steel. Where is this rust coming from? Certainly not the source of the...

Let's play what's in this fuel sample?

Again, if the clear liquid is water why isn't it on the bottom of the sample?

Let's play what's in this fuel sample?

If the clear stuff is water, why isn't it on the bottom???

Let's play what's in this fuel sample?

As soon as I saw your subject line I knew what the picture was going to look like. I had the exact same sample, and lots of it, last year. The clear stuff ( I thought it was water at first) stopped my motors more than once and took a lot of draining and coaxing to get running again. My gas did...

replacing battery wing nuts with nylok nuts

As I have preached before I preach again. Coming home a couple of nights ago I noticed my tach on the starboard motor dropped to zero and then picked up again when I moved the throttle. Having experienced this problem before to the tune of several hundred dollars, to replace my charging coil, I...

    starboard tank troubles

It Could be ethanol separation. I had it all last year intermittantly and finally solved it by removing and dumping the tanks (big job yes, but what a peace of mind booster) and then only using guaranteed non-ethanol fuel. Mostly one problem tank for me too. It was nice to have two motors when...

    Window Air Conditioner questions

I mounted a window 5000 BTU unit on a shelf in the transom. You need a camper back with a rear zippered panel of course. I was concerned it wouldn't cool the berth from there but no problem. It's quieter back there too. I used foam double stick tape to mount aluminum channels on the AC unit and...

    Stainless steel plate

I've been toying with the idea of using starboard material instead of stainless. If a guy was handy enough you could even rout out a concave edge to mate up flush with the inside of the bow rail and fasten it with a couple of screws from the bottom inside. Another way of attaching might be using...

    C-Dory on tv

I just volunteered Minnie Swann for a 30 second commercial about our condo's. I'll try to get a link posted but don't count on it. These boats do attract a lot of the right kind of attention! I need to know how to add a video.

    Suzuki Tachometer not working

Check tightness of battery conections. tighten with a wrench not fingers. IF that is the problem it might have already cooked your charging coil.

    Impellers on 40hp honda

I run on the river and get plugged up inidcator streams (pee'ers ) on a regular basis. I use heavy duty weed whip plastic line to clear my lines. It males all the curves and I can thread a couple of feet into the water jacket. I change impellers every 500 hours here on the muddy Mississippi. A...

Removing water from tank while afloat?

You could unhook your sight gauge tube and lay it in the cockpit to drain. WHILE UNDERWAY! :P

    Going down the Mississippi

I live in Prescott Wisconsin right at the confluence of the Mississippi and the St. Croix rivers. We have only gone about 200 miles between St. Paul Minnesota and Marquette, Iowa but plan to go farther in the next few years. The upper Miss. is very boater friendly and scenic. Many bluffs and...

    honda electrical problem

I am going to re-state a request that is probably borderline annoying but here goes again. These threads are very helpful in describing what may be the cause of a particular problem, but I notice time and time again that they peter out eventually with no real explanation of what suggestion...

    honda electrical problem

Please just check the tightness of the connections to the batteries. Please just do it even though you are sure that's not the problem and do it with a wrench not just your thumbs..

Put a Hot Tub in your CD 22 for Under $100

Do you have a kicker? That's all you would need for a jacuzzi. The tell-tail stream would help heat the water too! * * the preceding was meant to be a joke and in no way am I recommending the use of dangerous outboard motor propellers in close proximity to human appendages. DO NOT leave...
