    PNW Flooding

How's the rain/flooding situation in your neck of the woods? Here in the mid valley, seeing lots of high water in the fields and across roads. Rivers are high. With several more days of rain predicted, could this be a recap of the 1996 flooding? Maybe having a boat setting in the driveway...

    Tow vehicle axle question.

Limited slip can also shorten tire life, especially during the dry season when making turns on pavement. One of the best tow rigs we had in the past, was a 1994 FJ80 Toyota LandCruiser. It was set up with electric actuated lockers. Worked well when needed, but never any issues with handling or...

    Sea Sport

We have been very happy with the quality of our Explorer. Nice fit and finish, no raw edges anyware, even the lockers and bilge are well finished. Very solid boat. I hope the tradition continues.

    Lowrance G3 Broadband Radar Opinions/Feedback

The subject of NMEA-2000 network systems came up in an earlier thread on fuel sensors. Garmin and Raymarine seem to have a large following here, but I came across some info on the fairly new Lowrance Broadband radar. Specs show it to have a low power draw, and be much safer than the magnatron...

    Fuel flow meter

One other thing you might want to check..... Is your Yamaha 2 stroke fuel injected? Many 2-stroke fuel injection systems use a VST tank with it's own high pressure fuel pump to the injectors. The VST tank has a float valve to keep the proper fuel level. The low pressure pump feeds the VST, and...

    Fuel flow meter

Any experiances with the NMEA-2000 network compatable sensors, such as the Garmin GFS-10, or the Lowrance the EP-60R? Then all the data is together on the chartplotter. (plus fewer holes drilled in the dash) I've been thinking of going this route when I upgrade to a new chartplotter with radar...

    I will buy your CD22

I've had good luck with this Craigslist search site. http://www.allofcraigs.com/ One of the last sites that Craigslist hasn't shut down. A lot of 22's came up.

    Machine shop near Seattle?

I'm not in Seattle, but if it will ship in a small or medium USPS flat-rate box, I can do it in my machine shop here in Oregon, for the cost of return postage.

Chain attachment at bottom of anchor

Has anyone attached their chain to the base of an anchor such as a Bruce or CQR (plow) style in the same manner that is used with the Columbia style river anchors? Zip ties or wire hold the chain to the end one would normally attach to, but would break off with a vertical pull, thereby pulling...

    Why do we boat?

The sights, and sounds of being on the water. Wildlife rarely seen from the road. The sound of an evening rain shower as it strums the cabintop. Meeting others with like intrests while exploring new places. I find working on the boat as much of an outlet from the daily grind as going out. Our...

    Seasport Sportsman or CD 22/25?

We went through a similar set of choices, looking at both the CD25, and the SS Explorer 2400. I don't think either would sleep 4 adults, unless one wanted to sleep on the floor, or in the cockpit. The fold down dinettes are just to narrow for two. The SS 22 has even less room. We settled on a...
