    Bella Coola

Gene&Mary, We have made the trip from Port Hardy toward Bella Coola via Shearwater for refuel. We stopped just short of Bella Coola at Eucott Bay. Dean Channel is one of my wife's very favorite places. However, the inflow and outflow winds can be quite forceful. We have had a range of flat...

    Storage & Cruising

Hi Martin, Since you have twin 40's like us you are probably already stern heavy. We have storage lockers under the v-berth and that is where we keep spare props, spare anchor and a bunch of other stuff that doesn't get used daily. We are still stern heavy when we leave for a two week trip. If...

Wallace stove heater does not work in my 2009 Cruiser.

I think if you follow Roger's procedure it might work for you. I think the power disconnect we are both talking about is a white plug on the underside of the stove.

    Wallas Smoking...help!

As a DIY project we spent about $1300 for our espar install. I really don't want to guess what professional installation would cost. I think boat electric sells their DIY kit for around $2500. You are going to need a mount, exhaust pipe with insulating sleeve and thru hull. More ducting to get...

Wallace stove heater does not work in my 2009 Cruiser.

Disconnect the power plug from the underside of the stove. Wait a moment then reconnect. Hopefully it will start after that. Have had to do that a few times on my folks 25. It was an 07. Karl

    Wallas Smoking...help!

We had the same symptoms you described about three years ago. Heavy black smoke and fuel dripping out of the underside of the stove. Fuel dripping out of a hot pot makes for uneasy feelings when you have small children aboard. We had our stove fixed at lake union, but decided to correct our...

    C-Dory Sightings

Saw a new 29 Ranger Tug on the west side of Blake island this morning. Moon Dance was the name I believe. Beautiful boat! Also saw a 22 angler at the south end of the Tacoma narrows. Didn't catch the name. Great weekend to be on the water. Karl

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

Had a great day at Blake island today. Dropped the Portland Pudgy down and took the girls for a ride around the island. Took a little hike and then had some good dinner. Got to see the moon come up over Seattle. What a great way to spend a weekend. Karl

Came Across a Couple of Interesting Boats...

They look like transport vessels so probably no v-berth to sleep in. They look like they could fish in the Puget sound though. Best of luck to you, Karl.

Got to hand it to you Karl

Chuck, that would have been fun seeing You and Kathy and talking C-Dory. I'd bet there will be room on the dock for anybody that's in the area. Love to see other C-Dorys anytime. Karl

    Wrong Forum Indeed

Man I can't wait for tomorrow. Headed to Blake island for the weekend. Going to run up the Tacoma narrows and Colvos passage and try for a coho along the way. Might even drop a crab pot along the way. Hope to see some C- Dorys along the way. Happy Boating, Karl

    Dinghy Rack

Thanks for the advice on Tern Boat Salvage guys. I'll give them a call when we have our list ready. Greg, thanks for the advice on the tie down procedure. Are the slide buckles something REI sells individually? Must have just missed you on Sunday at Blake. Charlie, we used the ring on...

    Dinghy Rack

Well, After an unsuccessful first go round I contacted Garhauer about a longer base for the lifting davit. Turns out they can make them any length you want. So we went with a 50 inch base (standard is 31 inches) to provide enough lift to get the Portland Pudgy up onto the cabin. And so we...
