    pulling prawn traps

No I don't think they are. Would be nice it they were but I don't think so (they weren't with my old Fish-On's). Also, these have manual locks on them that the Scotty's don't have. The nice thing about the Folbe is that the rods are very easy to remove from the rod holder even when a fish is...

    Underwater Camera

So how deep would you be able to go with the ROV? That would be too cool!

Posting of very long link addresses

Guys, This is really easy to avoid. When using the tags do the following... put description here In this way you don't have to have the long URL. Just make sure to use the format I did above. :)

    pulling prawn traps

blackfish, Folbe (the maker of the best rod holders IMHO) makes a nice rail mount pulley for pulling crab pots. You could check it out.

    Underwater Camera

I purchased one of the Walker cameras off of Ebay a while back that came with the cable. Evidently someone snagged up and lost the whole camera/cable assembly. I haven't figure out how to wire it up to a monitor yet but once I do I'll likely modify 1 of my Scotty downriggers so that I can use it...

    Flushing trailer brake fluids

I use a pressure bleeder system on my brakes. It is very similar to this Simply attach the adapter over the master cylinder cap, pump it up to 10 lbs or so then go about bleeding each brake. Releave the pressure on the bottle and top up the fluid. Works great every time. I purchased mine from...

    Marine Electronics Instruction

Jeff Boyer (Well known Bass Pro Fisherman) puts on a GPS/Sonar seminar several places during shows using Lowrance gear. If you have a chance to attend one of them you will learn a lot! Jeff is a great guy (was often on the "Fishing the West" tv show) and very helpful. his website is...

    2008 Venture 23 Pictures.....

Welcome aboard Doug. I looked at the CC 23 just after they came out. They are definitely nice boats. I really liked the idea of the 26 that didn't have the step down into the cabin. It will be interesting to look at that boat when they come out.

Collapsible Shrimp / Crab traps for my TC

In Puget Sound it is crazy to spend a lot of money on Crab Traps as too many of them get stolen while fishing. That is the main reason I have the Danielson traps. Putting Rebar on the bottom of them similar to what is posted above works very well with them too. They do seem to work OK, but I...

I AGREE! Where are the pics of the new truck? Inquiring minds want to know and SEE :)

    No spill fuel cans

Those look like nice cans. That would be really handy when filling my tractor as it is almost impossible to fill it and not spill with a normal can.

    Jet-legs

There are some things on that thread that I agree with and some I don't. But outboard pumps lose a lot of performance due to the huge redirection of water as it flows through the system. This isn't the case with Inboard Jets. Now, I'm sure you could swap out the lower units and get it to work...

Salmon fishing in the salt - technique and methds

Great post Roger! I have a couple of additions. My number one flasher is the 105 in Rogers picture. Although, I caught 3 kings in Elliot Bay with Clear Crushed UV flashers this year (2 on aerofly's and one on a hootchie). I use both Hot Spots and E-Chips. Haven't really noticed much difference...

    08/07 - 08/17 - Neah Bay Gathering

Sounds like a great idea Roger. I won't commit to anything now, but will know more closer to July what my plans will be. Typically I spend that time up in Canada on a lake fly fishing. But I've missed getting out to that area for the last couple years. So one way or another I hope to make it in 08.

    Wheel bearing/brake trouble after paradise

If the bearings got hot enough to sling the grease, I would clean/repack the bearings and flush the brake fluid with new fluid. As others stated the system is probably fine, they just got overly used on the long down grade.

    Kicker Autopilot

Mac, You might consider locking the kicker straight ahead and using the big rudder. If that works you could then just get the TR-1 Gladiator instead. Then you can use it for fishing AND cruising. ;)

    Kicker Autopilot

Mac, I would bet that you could put "Fuel Line" quick connects on the hydraulics for the TR-1. I have to wonder though how often you would end up having to bleed the system. IFISH.Net has a thread that used to be watched by the guys at TR-1. You might ask your question there.

    Bay Star Helm

Even if you have a seal leak, I'm pretty sure you can get a new seal kit from Teleflex and rebuild the helm. I've seen them several times on the web as I was looking for a second helm station for my hydraulic system.

Impact (?) of low sulphur fuel on diesel engines.

Also, since I never run the tanks below 1/4 on the truck, hopefully i will retain the benefits of the bio for several tanks later.
