    Inside steps for 16'

I totally agree that any steps in and out need to be near something to hang on to :) The steps I started this post with was just too big. So we ended up with a small cooler for now, that can hold bait, fish, whatever, but at least it serves double duty. It's about 12 high, but I added rubber...

Going rate for slant back canvas cover?

here's another (third grade) mock-up of my intent. Because the 16' is so short, I think the rail on top of the roof lip would cause the cover to rub against the front of the "roof". The rail would be facing up, and therefore the fabric would be laying at a -45 degree angle against that? I...

Going rate for slant back canvas cover?

The flex-a-rail would be horizontal, but under the lip of the roof, rather than on top. Then the fabric would wrap around the sides, be secured in some way near the top under the roof lip on the sides, then hang down and be secured to the forward cleats. Well, I'm working on it :) I'll post...

Going rate for slant back canvas cover?

thataway, here's a rough mockup, my photo program is giving me grief tonight. This is just a mooring cover for the summer to keep debris out and deter critters (both human and sea lion wise), but also allow some airflow because we are so humid, lots of condensation. Also not worried much about...

Going rate for slant back canvas cover?

thataway, I've appreciated many of your posts about making your own mooring covers. so, I'm getting ready to do it with our 16' cruiser with flex-a-rail and awning rope for under the roof. But we want to do it without snaps - for example, there could be a flap of fabric forward on both sides...

    Inside steps for 16'

And the table probably wouldn't fit with a third seat there, or be pretty awkward. But we had nixed the table anyway. I thought of making a fold up or fold down table, but decided just to hang an organizer off of the big black "table holders", and life is good :)

    Inside steps for 16'

Our old 12" is not foldable, which is maybe what I like about it for stability - guess we'll have to make something, I'm thinking something that you can actually store something in - as you know, space is at a premium in the 16'. I agree that the two step we bought might be turned around and...

    Inside steps for 16'

we also have a 9", but it's just not enough for me (I'm 5'). But this item is actually too big, so we may just clean up a 12" rubbermaid I've had forever, it's very stable, and that's what I'm looking for :)

    Inside steps for 16'

Oh, also, we have two small step stools of this variety, the small kind that like to grab your fingers, or skin? This doesn't :)

    Inside steps for 16'

We've tried to think of something we could make make to get in and out of the boat at dock, and we decided to get this for the time being. We didn't want to drill holes in the gunwale, and didn't want something hanging over it that would impact the surface, either side. We wanted to make...

    Mr. Funnel water separator?

thanks, we have no ethanol free gas in our area. We'll give Mr. Funnel a try, tho I don't know how "fun" it will be at the gas pump :) I just ran across an old mercury website that recommends 91 octane, maybe we'll up the octane a bit to reduce the ethanol even more, what do most people run?

    Mr. Funnel water separator?

We're replacing our inline fuel filter, and replacing the current water separator with a Parker Racor 3213 with a s/s top assembly, but we also just recently bought and received a large Mr. Funnel to add to the water removal system :) Anyone had any experience with this, positive or negative...

Leveling the deck on a 16"

After much research, we decided to do TotalBoats Bilge paint, in the bilge area, mostly because they had other colors of deck paint that we could do a final finish with to make the whole deck one color. But the TotalBoats deck color was just a bit too yellow, so we went with Rustoleum oyster...

    Lettering

Ordered the lettering from lettering.com (which you can reach from a lot of different urls it appears) with their dark green, and a gold shadow. I was initially quite disappointed with the fact that the dark green on their website was quite a lot "greener" than what I got (and I have a...
