    05/15 - 05/17 - 2015 Friday Harbor Gathering

Launa and I will be there. This will be our first CBGT and we always enjoy Friday Harbor. We may also be looking for Christening Services as FREQUENT-C has yet to have a proper ceremony.

Adding capability to lowrance hds7gen2 combo unit

Have you looked at the Simrad EVO 2 setup? It has all the parts and pieces you are looking for with the exception of radar, you still have to plug 3g or 4g into it. Also keep in mind that to get CHIRP in either application, you need the xducer which is sold separately. Then you have to decide...

2.29 on the Res....but thats a whole other story. I'll pay the 2.49 on the Navy base. Sure makes those duals more palatable... :xlol

    Depth Sounder

Ray, Budget and available space are generally the primary constraints when selecting a fish finder (i'm assuming you want more than a Fathometer). Next you need to determine what you want it to do. Do you want/need high frequency side/down scan or is the standard 50/83/200kHz sufficient. Do...

    Your cruising speed?

Normal cruising speed is 27mph (4800rpm) but when it's the Resurrection Derby cannon start, you put the sticks to the stops! We hit 39mph at 6300rpm fully loaded with four men, fishing gear, fuel and water. In a word, EPIC. http://youtu.be/DMy0aSLHLRU **Warning...some graphic language**

    Wallas reminder

I got the stove back from SM. Holding off on the re-installation until I know which sealant I should use under the lip. The sealant is white and non-permanent but took some prying with shims to get it up. Any idea or sugestions? 4200 maybe?

TH Marine Outboard Quick Flush Kit

Very similar to what I use for my Suzuki's. My inserts are brass and came from the gardening depertment at Home Depot. Quick connect male on the motor side and female on the hose side. I do take mine out as they do not have the check valve but I don't mind. Definetly reduces the effort required...

    Your cruising speed?

28mph for the long runs ( in excess of 5 miles). 35mph for the short runs, you know, because it's fun. The seas have to cooperate so the above is true to 2-3' seas. The 8-10 footers this last weekend had me down to 6mph which just sucked.

    Deterring Seals

I prefer to align myself with one of the transient orca pods. The only thing they like better than breaching right next to you and scaring the crap outta you, is the taste of fresh seal. If an orca isn't available, i like the paintball gun. Right before I pull the trigger, I yell 'He's going...

    Cruising to Nanaimo

Awesome, great info. I had planned to clear in Nanaimo but definitely a better idea to clear early to be able make stops along the way up. Thanks!

PNW Space A Flight Info Anyone??

While I do not know the exact routes, I know VR61 has daily flights into and out of Whidbey Island on DC9's. If you need the ATO number, let me know. Steve

    Cruising to Nanaimo

One of the reasons we wanted a larger boat was to make the cruise to my Wife's hometown of Nanaimo from Whidbey Island. I have been looking at the charts and have the required Canada navchips for the GPS and even the electronic versions of the paper nav charts from Canada. We have made the trip...
