Thanks Bob, I just don't see how to fish it inside (along the steering cables) I will see if I can run a fish tape through the battery box? Richard

    Transducer cable

Hi, I just purchased a new gps/fish finder with a transom mount transducer. My old one sat inside the boat (loose) in the bilge well (stern) and worked great. I just wanted to upgrade. My question is this... How do I get the cable to run along the starboard side (inside)? I am afraid of hitting...

    front window adjuster

Is it frozen? Mine would not turn at all so I gave it a shot of wd40. That did nothing. A friend of mine gave it a shot of "kano-AERO KROIL" (says the oil that creeps). I was very skeptical. To my amazement the knob turned like it was brand new. I have since used it for numerous rusted stuck...

    Dory right for San Diego?

simple answer... yes. slow down and be comfy. I stayed at the Dana in S.D. for a week and fished all over. The question is - Do you want a pilot house. Richard I get into some fairly rough water here in OC and with a whale tail on the outboard and slowing down... PERFECT

    Boat right sizing

I agree with the 19. Not just because I own one, but because it is the perfect size for fishing and plenty of room for sleep. (I have not slept on it yet but look forward to Catalina overnighter this summer) It truly sips fuel and with a trim (whale tail) added to the outboard, it actually...

    New member saying hello

Welcome. This is a great website and has been very helpful to me. I had my boat transported from Idaho to here in HB California . Be sure to check references on whom you have tow. Also look into their insurance policy. I went with a known transport service and was completely dissatisfied with...

    What material would you use?

Joel, I actually made a bait board that I clip into a bracket on the gunnel out of one. I figure if its good enough to cut on... I hope to figure out the "how to post pics on here" part. I can build a house but some reason the computer is ROCKET SCIENCE to me. Smart and final ... $ 6.35 West...

    What material would you use?

I would go to smart and final and buy a cutting board. You can cut the strips needed to size and use ss brackets/screws. It will be very inexpensive. Richard

    10 Day San Juan’s Itinerary

Hi folks, I didn't know if I should start another thread, but had a question. I am not familiar at all with the area. My wife and her sisters are wanting to see orcas and planning a trip to Washington State. Wondering what time of the year they would likely have the best success and what is the...

Where to mount trim tabs 22ft cruiser

I have both (trim tabs and hydrofoil) I was anxious so I picked up a plastic one at west marine. It was very in expensive, slid onto the outboard without any drilling (just a set screw) and made my 19 footer a new boat. It got rid of the hard slap in rough chop and gets on plane, stays on plane...

16 ft Cruiser wanted SE US

Fla Beachbum, I looked for about 6 months and ended up with my 19 from Idaho. It originally was purchased by a Florida resident. My advice is to pay for shipping (towing) if needed. Opa is a nice find. Just my 2 cents. Welcome aboard. Richard

    2005 19 angler bilge pump

So yes it turns out the auto float switch in the bilge pump was bad. I replaced it with a new pump. The auto part of the pump never worked. (since I have owned the boat. I keep learning. Also turns out the pump going on for ten seconds after shutting down the motor. incorrect. What I was hearing...

    2005 19 angler bilge pump

Now I am curious if it has a loop. I hope so, but no way of knowing without pulling the port side gas tank. I was curious about the flapper because the discharge hole has a dog (pin) opposite each side as if it used to hold one. appreciate you guys. Richard I also will try to figure how to...

    2005 19 angler bilge pump

Hi, I have an automatic bilge pump at the stern, in a slight depressed area between the gas tanks. I am guessing the automatic part is that when I turn the motor off, it goes on for about 10 seconds. Yesterday, out and about local (Long Beach coast) I noticed that I could not make it go on...
