    Drilling holes in gunnel

Hi. A friend of mine showed me an easy way to put pictures up so I wanted to see if I could. I ended up with the bolt ons. They seem pretty darn strong.http://i65.tinypic.com/xm7702.jpg The second picture was to show my gunnel (no access) Hope the picture upload works as it was actually pretty...

    Drilling holes in gunnel

Thank you. I see no access (the top 1/4 is riveted onto the bottom 3/4s of the boat) Makes sense that the starboard side would have all the stuff in it. I have the clamp on type (west marine) mounted to the two handles one would use to climb in (from the trailer). My boat has a 1 1/4 tubing...

    Drilling holes in gunnel

Thanks guys, There is nothing to remove to get at stuff, so I am guessing a small pilot hole to inspect first, I did get the clamp type that I have mounted to the handles, really want something solid for the huge tuna when trolling. (That was me hoping.) Richard

    Drilling holes in gunnel

Hi, I am wanting to add some rod holders to both sides of my 19 ft. angler. Does anyone know if it is safe to drill in the gunnels, between the step area (rough) and the battery compartment. (in the middle) I don't want to hit any cables/wires etc. Thanks and Happy New Year, Richard

16 Angler and the Pacific Ocean

I came very VERY close to a 16 and was led to a 19. (I know you are not interested in a 19) I can tell you that at 16 , you will be a cork bobbing in the water, at the swell you mentioned. That being said, pick your days... slow down when its rough, and the 16 will get you to land. White...

The good news is I won't need one for a zillion years (dog years of course) but I did take the class free online thru boat u.s. and learned a ton of good info. Now that I passed, I am going to do it again. (without siri for the answers) Richard

    Brakes lock up when backing

I had the exact same issue. It was the solenoid that needed replacement. They have a 4 to 5 adapter at the auto parts store. My trailer had two flat hook metal arms behind the ball socket (sliding out of the trailer towards the truck). Yes, I put a bolt in there to bypass the brakes, so I could...

    few questions about my 19

Thank you thank you. It is sure nice of you all to help me. Great feedback. The boat was x coastguard (auxiliary). I am not very computer savy, or I would could post pics. The boat does have a wash out looking quick connect, but I am certain it is deleted. hmmmmm. Bob, I would love to meet you...

    few questions about my 19

Hi guys, new to the c dory but very happy to be a part of it with my new (to me) 19 angler. I am having the bottom re-coated and noticed at the very back (stern, bottom of boat) is a small ball like screen cup. Was this old stuff? also i notice water (not much) after a day out in rough water in...

    Thrusters on a c dory

Hi Brats, Richard here w/ the 19 foot (angler management) dory. Just curious, Has anyone put thrusters on? I have bow and stern thrusters that came with the boat. I don't think I will be installing them. SS230 and st230 made by side shift. They seem like fun but I can't imagine them on such a...
