    2017 Tomcat

A couple of questions. Without a water line in the gel coat, how do you determine where to apply bottom paint? I see that the motor pod is in the water at rest. Can the pod be bottom painted? Can the motors be tipped up to clear the water?

    TomCat

Bob, Thanks for the reply. I will have to try out the bunk in a TC 255 to see. Can any TC255 owner comment on fuel economy? Does the boat get less than 2NMPG when cruising at 20-25Knots?

    TomCat

I have a couple of questions about the TC 255. My wife and I prefer to sleep fore and aft like in a CD 25. The bed in a Tom Cat looks like sleeping is side to side with the person on the inside having to climb over the other person. Would it be possible to sleep fore and aft if an...

    Fuel spills

To avoid spills on the water. Fuel up at a land gas station. On the water, fold up a 'diaper' (fuel absorbent pad) and hold or tape it over the vent fitting. Wrap another 'diaper' around the fuel nozzle over the fuel filler opening. Fill slowly and try to avoid the topping up auto shut off...

    toasted some wires.

I would definitely replace the outlet, its much cheaper that replacing your burned up boat!

    toasted some wires.

Sounds to me like a dead short at the outlet unless you were using the outlet at the time of the toast. I would replace the outlet and wires, using at least AWG 12 wires, as well as replacing any other damaged wiring.

    Port Harvey Resort request

I sent my e-mail and got the same reply today as Harvey. I encourage anyone who cruises the Broughtons to consider supporting Port Harvey Marina in this. We need all the facilities in that area.
