    Battery Choices

One word of caution- AGM batteries are actually flooded lead acid batteries but use gel and can thus use closer spaced plates. They are not totally sealed (extremely low outgassing but still possible in certain charging conditions) and therefore cannot be mounted upside down. Close to vertically...

Does listing affect loading on trailer?

I think you may have found the culprit if the boat always loads to the same side. Sounds like it's time to move some stuff around?

Port Harvey Marine Industrial Zoning Hearing Report 7/2017

Quote from the planning analysis: "The owners advise that marine industrial activities have been historically undertaken on the subject property and adjacent marine areas. These uses are not currently permitted by the applicable zoning" Wow! So the owner/operator is admitting he has been...

Should we add a sub site for seasport?

I prefer to remain a 'C-Brat' and retain the C-Dory linage. Perhaps Seasport owners can form a SeaBrat forum? I enjoy reading and answering questions from boat owner's of other models, but I prefer to keep the C-Brat forum a C-Dory forum, and often go to the Hulltruth forum for non-C-Dory...

What is the right hose for the wash down

Most hometown hardware stores can convert the garden hose to work with the air compressor fitting, or you can spend 30 minutes in Lowe's or Home Depot checking out the plumbing and air compressor section. There is also a string on this in the forum if you want to do a search. As I recall it...

Getting Daydream on a Plane on the Loop

FWIW - Mercury Marine specifies 55 ft pounds which is pretty significant. To give you an idea- 20 foot lbs equates to pulling on the wrench as hard as I can with my hand at the base of the wrench.

    Grease for Prop Shaft

My local auto parts carries 'marine and off road' grease in a cartridge. You might have to throw the rest of it away if you don't have a grease gun, but what the ey' it will work in a pinch on your prop shaft

    USS Fitzgerald

Perhaps the absence of a gene pool lifeguard may address the problem. We recently had two bass boats ignore the rules of the road and take each other out. One of the survivors is still in intensive care.

    USS Fitzgerald

Thank you for sharing. I personally find the starboard overtaking versus crossing situation to be confusing at times, especially at night. While 22.5 degrees may be a nice number, I find it difficult sometimes to tell ii a 'boat' in the 22.5 degree arc/region is crossing my bow or overtaking...

    Ranger vs. C-Dory

Thanks Tosca and based on your initial ‘catastrophic Honda 150” post I immediately checked my thrust washer/main bearing play and both engines were OK. I also did a Google search at the time and your post was the first to appear so it doesn’t seem to be a huge Honda 150 issue. I did find that...

    Ranger vs. C-Dory

Thanks, I read your "catastrophic Honda 150" post two years ago about your thrust bearing failure at 1100 hours. As I recall your Honda mechanic said he had seen it before on occasion but not often and most 150's seem to be OK. At 2500 hours who knows, but I'm keeping an eye on them and if one...

    Ranger vs. C-Dory

I beg to differ, at least in my case. The redline on a Honda Accord is 7000 (13,000 rpm on their race version). I have never hit 7000 on my Honda 150 outboards nor will my prop let me. Normal usage is an extended warmup as I clear the no wake zone in my Marina, and then accelerate to 3500 RPM...
