Which is better: 22' cruiser or 25' cruiser?

This is a highly subjective question, much like single or twins. To each his own, and what suits you best, and how will you use it. It is like comparing best of show or perhaps best of group instead of best of breed. I mean a Yorkie and an Airedale are both terriers but we have Brats that own...

Vertical Sliding Window/ Door/ Round two

Hi Jay, Saw the post and I say not a penny more. Well I guess I'll send you a check since you did promise dock space some day at Isle Royale. I stayed too long at the fair, thinking I would get out again since I had done so little boating this summer. Then it snowed, then it forecast big...

    22 versus 23 cruiser

The 23 is 1000 lbs heavier and takes up to 200 hp instead of 110. Its ?advantages? are mostly that it is bigger but those are disadvantages also. Still can't beat the 22 for easy trailering. launching. etc. Now that 26 with the cockpit deck/hull would be dandy to keep in the marina. Regards, Mark

    Fender Storage

I store four large fenders in the motor well. Secured with z grips to the board I have across transom. I don't have a swim step so this works well for me. Mark

The Cruising Adventures of Wild Blue and crew...

A friend who is a retired professional photographer and who always creates great pictures out of nothing (well light and color I suppose) once told me that he responded as follows" Question: "Say that is a pretty nice picture, what kind of camera did you use to make it?" Answer: That is like...

    Definition of C-Worthy

I am not sure of the phrase's origin but I have always liked the term "well found vessel." As in "I saw the prettiest little boat at the docks the other day, she was blue and white and a well found vessel." I think the phrase implies some seaworthiness, some upkeep, some suitability for the...

    Prudence and leaving the dock

I agree with the idea that driving to the dock is far more dangerous than going out for a week or three. Mark Twain said (or so they say): All generalizations are false, including this one. Don't tell fish stories where the people know you; but particularly, don't tell them where they know...

    Open Ocean Suitability

Comments and questions: I love it when Dogon Dan is in the slow season and posts here. He makes me laugh and does have insightful posts, and he is welcome to fish with me anyday. I am a fan, well at least of his dogs. Dr. Bob has given great advice here for years and has personally (by email)...

    BigJon Downriggers

I have owned Big Jon downriggers for thirty years or so. Have three on the 22 cruiser. Four on the boat before that and two on the boat before that. They have always worked as specified. They have all been manuals. I have used a lot of electrics as well, but not my own. All experience is in...

    hieght of 22' c-dory

Once radar is on the arch you may want to relocate the all around light to a higher position on the arch. Then the light is the highest point. With my low radar arch my all around light is 10' 2" on the trailer add a foot for the high arch. Mark
