    Canada - US Border

Raw number for border enforcement encounters by year. https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/sout ... encounters Biden admin to its credit started vaccinations of migrants as well. https://www.forbes.com/sites/joewalsh/2 ... c9d87d1774 Only about 15-20% of migrants at the border actually had...

    25 cruiser Cabin height

One of the reasons I bought a 2006 CD25 was the inside cabin height is at least 6'7" or so. I am 6'5" and love that I don't have to watch my head too much. Well, except for the door.... But I noticed on the c-dory web site the height is 6'1" in the cabin? They call it out as "Headroom: 6'1"...

What's Seattle really like these days?

Mercer Island. Some issues now getting on/off due to access to i-90, but very safe IMO. Wealthy tech execs live on the water, but if not on the water housing is somewhat reasonable. Well... relatively. I don't recall seeing much/any homeless there and close to city for commute.

What's Seattle really like these days?

The question really is how much has there been a migration of wealthy out of the larger cities into suburbs. SF has definitively seen this migration, and most real estate agencies report on this. Seattle is still growing a lot compared to SF... but suburbs are growing at a much faster pace...

What's Seattle really like these days?

I don't think there is really all that much in dispute in the doc I watched - and it seemed to be backed by Sea Times reporter based on feedback from readers. That said, readers who are upset at the situation will more likely provide that feedback than those who think all is well. So there...

What's Seattle really like these days?

Great idea - then you can really decide where you want to (or if you want to) live and buy. IF you do want to buy "for sure", then it all depends on where you think RE prices will be in 1-2 years.

What's Seattle really like these days?

Just... wow. I had heard that media were in general turning off online commentary. Too funny for a "free media"... :) "Since we banned anonymous online comments on this column several months ago due to hateful and otherwise rule-breaking behavior in that forum, many readers have lamented the...

What's Seattle really like these days?

Well, if you don't need to live in Seattle proper then there are some other great areas as well. Kirkland is a fantastic area (east) and a bridge drive to Seattle past UW (okay - can be a pain if you must commute). But I would also look at Gig Harbor very closely.... Whatever about the...

What's Seattle really like these days?

And why move from DC to Seattle? I have lived both places and while the summers are most excellent in the PNW, DC area has its benefits. As well, if you are into boating, Annapolis is great... I know a lot of people visit the PNW in the SUMMER... but can't handle the winters. Not cold, not...

What's Seattle really like these days?

Certainly true. Ideally you spend summers / fall in PNW, and then in central coast CA during the winter or possibly AZ. Not sure if original poster cares, but be prepared for rain - not hard - just constant drizzle and grey. Some people love it. Others hate it. But it does keep it green...

What's Seattle really like these days?

Not far from SeaTac. If you go on the eastern side into the hill area there are some nice properties. Otherwise, if the job is AT seatac then just get somewhere close to the light rail and you will be fine... The airport light rail to/from Seattle is great. Getting to Starbucks corporate (near...

What's Seattle really like these days?

Yes. My children know no better either. Once you grow up with the crime and homelessness, you think that living in the tenderloin in SF is cool, and you just accept that your car will be broken into a few times a year. You accept it because it becomes the new norm, which is why there is no...

    vaccination

And why a country should never allow the outsourcing of key technologies and its manufacturing base. Too late for many "modern" countries. It is the nature of war. Guatemala seems to be doing well though... right now of course. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/202 ... s.html#map...

    vaccination

Not sure what is going on, but I think I previously shared that my relatives are flocking to the US for their vaccinations. Aunt was just down a couple of weeks ago for her second shot. Other of her friends are flying to FL where she claims the US doesn't check citizenship (for the shot). Not...

    Radar wiring - install help

Radar: $855.00 iPad: Re-using an unused older ipad with GPS/wifi capability. Switch: RSP-1W: White - One Switch (superbrightleds.com) $19.95 w 5A fuse (which I had to source separately). Starboard: about $15 as I recall. I did reinforce the back with blocking to screw the switch into. Used...

    Radar wiring - install help

As far as I can tell, no. There is some sort of echo stretch setting, but that is not the same as a bearing indicator of speed of an object. I was looking at a raymarine quantum radar that had the feature - much more expensive and would also require an MFD upgrade to support. Frankly, just...

    Radar wiring - install help

Took it out on the delta today and didn't notice any interference or odd images coming from the anchor light. Good - less work. :) Radar seemed to do well, and didn't really notice any reflection issues with the ipad as I was inside (day was sunny) and just had it placed next to the steering...
