    New C-Dory coming in

A good idea. I'm sure many brats would be happy to help. One issue though: " a representative of the C-Brats" ain't no such critter. We are notoriously undisciplined and have no structure. If you just ask for help on this site you'll find volunteers and should be able to work out the...

    New C-Dory coming in

if a 22 a high top is a good start, I'm 6'2", have one and it makes life on the boat a whole lot easier. Tall radar arch, windlass, offer an option other than a wallas for cooking and heat. We have a Webasto furnace, a Kenyon stove (Which we rarely use-we cook on propane in the cockpit). A 4...

3M Marine Grade Silicone or Butyl Tape

I'm not sure, my rails are stainless, but I think your cabin rails are through bolted into the cabin roof since they would be designed to take a lot of force and are safety features. I'd check inside the cabin for evidence one way or the other. I would not use silicone at all. If I just wanted...

Cracking along bottom of 22 cabin bulkhead - how to repair?

I noticed similar cracks while tracking down some water intrusion into the cabin shortly after getting the boat. I dried with heat and airflow then used 5200 to seal the crack. I wanted the flexion in the 5200. It has worked well for several years.

Steering System Keeps Turning - Low Oil Level?

Found the number for the wheel seal kit: seal kit part # HS5147, Note this is for systems with engine power up to 150HP. If you have more HP you have a different system and would need to contact Baystar.

Steering System Keeps Turning - Low Oil Level?

There is a helm seal kit available from Baystar. I don't know the kit number off hand. The seal I replaced was at the piston in the splashwell, not the helm. By the way, in the baystar manual is a list of other fluids that can be used, most are aviation brake fluids.

Shootings at Canadian Parliament and War Memorial

Thinking of our Canadian brats. A soldier guarding Canada's War Memorial, (like Unknown Soldier guards), was shot and killed today, at least one other shooter penetrated Canada's Parliament building and shots were fired in the building.

    loading problem Cape Cruiser 23

Do you use a lot of the strap, like 10-15 feet? if so, try bringing the boat farther up so you only use 3 or so feet of the strap. It may be the winch strap just not taking out all of the real slack. We float the boat right up to within a foot or so of its final position. I cinch ours tight...

New camperback - a few detail questions for the gang....

The Bimini on Our first set of camperbacks zipped open only from one side. That made docking and getting off the boat from the other side more difficult. So, consider having yours made to unzip from both sides (our 2nd set does that and we like it.) you might also consider having the side panels...
