    08/20 - 08-26 - Catalina Adventure in Paradise 2006

SeaSpray, Check out the very first post on this thread for that info. Additionally, most of us meet Sunday at Chase Park in Marina Del Rey. Chase Park is just down the channel from the MDR launch ramp. I believe they charge about $16 to stay overnight, and they have shore power and nice...

    08/20 - 08-26 - Catalina Adventure in Paradise 2006

Here's a recap of those boats signed up for the Catalina Adventure 2006: Sealife BobCat C-PuP Discovery Dora-Jean Fishtales Islander Salty-Cs Sea3PO Pounder (Not listed on the sign-up sheet, but he wouldn't dare miss this) How about koinonia, and Lil Rascal, and Water Lily?

    08/20 - 08-26 - Catalina Adventure in Paradise 2006

Ah, the competitive juices are starting to flow, the positioning, the handicaping, the cheating? No, my friends, this will be a bare knuckle race, no motors!! I don't think the Harbor Patrol would appreciate a group of screaming, powered dingys racing around their pier. No, your engines are...

    @#*&Q&^*@ Anchor!

On my old Sealife, I installed a length of stainless rub rail onto the leading edge of the bow, above the trailer eye. This helps protect the bow from the swinging anchor chips. Looks good too.

    08/20 - 08-26 - Catalina Adventure in Paradise 2006

Summer Time and Catalina Beckons!! Just a month and a half away. This year, because of Marina del Rey's very unfriendly parking charge ($7 per day), the Channel Island Group has elected to cruise down to MDR instead of trailer. Done it before....takes about 3 hours. Also, MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT...

    Reversible seating - CD22

Mark, Installed the new hardware hinges, but elected to fasten directly to the bulkhead without the teak board. The teak board would have moved the table outward toward the isle a bit, requiring repositioning of the table leg, and I found the fit of the table against the bulkhead was better...

    Autopilot on a TC-255

I have the ST6001 and would not leave home without it. Works great in just about any sea condition. Where it really comes in handy, is in low visibility situations, where it is hard to steer a straight course without visual reference points. In fog, its a life saver. Most times out, I just...

    Channel Islands Quickie?

Love to go.....but committed long ago to a CG patrol on Saturday, and manning a booth at SeeBees Day at the Navy Station on Sunday. BTW, took my RV up to Lake Isabella and the Kern River Monday-Tuesday. Great camping area, big lake, maybe future gathering spot?

    Fuel leak repair

On my old Sealife, I upgraded to the newer style tanks from the factory, installing them myself. Oncel installed I filled each tank with 5 gallons of fuel. That's when the fun started. I noticed fuel dripping out of my stern drain tube...panic!! Put a bucket under it and frantically started...

    Channel Islands Quickie?

Would love to go but I'm already committed to a patrol that day, plus photo duty for SeeBee Days at the Navy Base. Would have been out doing a safety patrol for the Hokalua Canoe Races out of Ventura, but my back went out yesterday and I had to cancel. Hope to be in good enough shape to go to...

    Handling a Large Wave

Absolutely take it at a 45 degree angle on the bow, with enough speed to get up and over the top without being thrown backwards. Oh, yeah, hold on, and fasten your seat belt. Taking it as Salty C's did is inviting a rollover, (hope they are alright). Taking it head on is safe also, but alot...

    C-80 Tip

Has anyone connected their VHF radio to the C-80 for MMSI? If so, which cable and which wires need to be connected? I have a hunch that its the cable that connects my C-80 display to the ST6001 Autopilot display. I think that's the NMEA cable.

    Lake Isabella

How about a September gathering? Sometime right after Labor Day, when the crowds are down, or even late September/early October would be great.....fall colors, warm days, cool nights. How about the last week in September?

    05/17 - 05/20 - 4th Annual Delta/Bay Extravaganza

Roger, Visited their site that you linked and the rates are lower than what you said. $30 annual, $10 for a three day pass. Looks like a great place for us to visit.

    05/17 - 05/20 - 4th Annual Delta/Bay Extravaganza

Sam & Kerry, I agree....even though I had to leave early, I really had a blast bombing around the island on that ATV. Every year I've attended it's been different. Tell us more about Lake Isabella. We have been kicking around doing a gathering there. Is it big enough for cruising? Fishing...

    Reversible seating - CD22

Mark, I'd appreciate the pictures. My email address is brode2@aol.com. How did you afix the wood strip...5200 or screws? Thanks much.

    Reversible seating - CD22

Thanks, Rabidfish. My setup is slightly different; I have the reversible seat. Also, I'm doing a retrofit, so I'm concerned about mounting the piece of wood on the side of the hull. In your photos, it appears the table butts up to the wood, meaning it would move my existing table a bit...

    Reversible seating - CD22

Well, the pins didn't work (kept falling out), so I contacted Scott Mathews at the factory, and he sent me a set of the new table hardware; new hinges, lever action fastener, and sliding bolt. It seems to require afixing a strip of wood to the hull to accept the screws and sliding bolt. Can...

    05/17 - 05/20 - 4th Annual Delta/Bay Extravaganza

Islander, Fistales, and I (Sealife) trailered up to Rio Vista on Monday. Tuesday morning we all headed up river towards Stockton, intending to stop for lunch at a place Roger (Fishtales) had scoped out. Long, windy ride later, we arrived at this deserted, funky resort. Had a quick sandwich...
