Strange overheating alarm on 2008 Honda 135

My 2003 200 hp Honda did the same thing 3 yrs ago. After much typing and a-s scratching it turned out to be the thermostats. Has not done it for 3 yrs now.

    Sea Star steering leaking

My Sea Star HC 5345 steering has been sloppy and minor leaking for several years. I top off the helm pump each time out. Today while carefully inspecting before putting it to bed for winter I found a small amount of hydr. oil under the starboard end of the hydraulic rod. Thinking it was those...

    Season over here.

Our boating/fishing season is pretty much over for this year. Time to winterize the C -Dory again. I hate doing it as I know it will be almost 7 mo. before launching again. Today I made an executive decision trying to make this ordeal a little easier. Tying a big tarp on a boat is like trying...

    shipping cost

When looking at a used boat years ago I asked an experienced boater and friend to help me make a decision. He said get the largest boat that you can afford and think you will need and then buy the next larger one. He was correct. Good luck. Jack in Alaska

    Anyone know anything about this

When I first went to the C-Dory factory in 1982 to look at their available boats my FIL, son John and Me were invited t o go on a ride out of Demoines, Wash on a 22'. The man that took us out was Roy Toland, the father of Mark. He was a great guy and gave me a lot of info on their boats. I...

    I need new tires

I have been using Michlein X-ICE tires on our car for over 6 yrs. and leave them on year around. Still have good tread. They stick on ice better than studs IMHO. Excellent product.

    fresh water wash down

It is blowing 40 knts with 17' seas today so............no fishing. What would one need fresh water wash down for when out on the water??? I realized that my sink is full of lures and other stuff and never used. I could easily "T" off the water line to an outside hose and have a really nice...

    TyBoo repower

I have a 200 Hp Honda on my 26' ProAngler with a bracket. In my estimation the 200 is more power than I need. A 150 would do just fine. With 4 people and 200 lbs of fish it jumps out of the hole with ease particularly with the Permatrim on it. Good luck to Tyboo with his new set up. Jack

    Factory News!! C-Dory Factory News

It is good to hear that 3 Rivers Marine is back as a CD dealer. I dealt with them back in 2006 on my present ProAngler but the deal did not work out. Then in 2009 I found the very same boat for sale on Ebay, it had been repossessed in W. Palm Beach with 100 hrs on it. I bought it and it is in...

    Why I love the sea/water

Hardee.... I agree with your piece 100%. I have always loved the water and being on it since 5 or 6 yrs old. My Dad and I built a wooden boat in our garage in Wisconsin when I was 13. It was a 12' racing run about but I caught more walleyes out of it than you can count. Had to sell it when...

    C Dory cancelling dealers

I noticed the other day that Alaska Mining & Diving in Anchorage has new C-Dorys as well as Sea Sports in stock. As a 34 yr. owner of C-Dorys I have desire and hope that C-Dory's will continue to be manufactured. The factory owners will run their business to make money so get used to that...

    Get home motor use

I had to use my kicker to get home once. A 1977 2 stroke Johnson. I was anchored up in 155' of water aboiut 10 miles offshore. THe main engine would not start......dead in the water. I pull started the old Johnson and pulled the anchor, very slowly, and motored 10 miles in. Other than that...

    C Dory cancelling dealers

Three Rivers Marine has been around since the early 2000's. I tried to buy a used CD in 2005, the one I own now. The deal fell through but I found the same boat on EBAY 4 yrs later with only 30 more hrs. on it as well as $40k off of the price. It was in a repo yard in W. Palm Beach, Fla. Turned...

What people say about our boat

We purchased our 1st C-Dory in 1983. I had seen one the season before and we very impressed. We purchased it at the factory in Kent, Wash, drove down to the factory and towed to back to Alaska. Many positive comments were heard on that trip. My son purchased it from me in 2009 and he runs...

communication differences between aviation and marine

Here in Alaska the Coast Guard messages are usually spoken by young girls in "valley girl" language at 100 words per second, totally not understandable. Also............we have Russian commercial fishermen on the VHF 16 using it like a CB. Any comment to them comes back as a real clear "F"...

Should we add a sub site for seasport?

As a C-Dory owner since 1983 I vote to limit the Cbrats to C-Dory owners only and discuss that boat line only. It is a dory and has many different properties than most other lines. Just my humble opinion for what it is worth.

    trailer transport

I had my CD towed from W. Palm Beach, Fla to Anchorage, Ak. THe engine should be in the vertical position as well as secured from hammering the hydraulic steering by swinging L/R all the time.

6 HP kicker for Venture 26?

I agree with Dutch123. On my 26' ProAngler.. 9.9 hp as a kicker for trolling and getting home. My 9.9 has the high thrust 4 blade prop and will pull my anchor at 200'. It is slow but will do it. It trolls great and is not affected by windage. My main engine is a 200 hp Honda. It trolls well...

    C-Dory Sightings

On the Seward Hyw. north of Seward heading towards Anchorage....... A 25' C-Dory, bright aqua in color with a black (Mercury) stern drive, an unusual set up. Also saw a new (I think) 16' C-dory not too far behind.
