What part of Ca. is the boat located? I can give you a list of several that do moving and storage if you give me the general area and if it is close to me I will check them out for you. I know that all the rates have increased over last year, I shipped a 1949 Mercury to Michigan from Ca. in a...

    Downriggers on a 16 Cruiser?

Hi Brandon---- before I started drilling any holes, I would want to check with the dealer that sold me the boat or even with the factory. If you bought the boat from Les at E.Q. Harbor Services on Whidbey Island this would be my 1st contact. Rich

    Downriggers on a 16 Cruiser?

Hi Brandon---- my used 16' cruiser boat came with down riggers already mounted, since the boat was orginally owned by Ben Toland (the builder) I can only assume that alot of forethought was considered with the exact mounting position. I have never used the down riggers, and the boat is presently...

    Byrdman's CD18

Byrdman-- boat looks great, if it dosen't polish out to your expectations look into re-gel-coating instead of painting, I have done both and have been a lot happier with the gel-coat process, especially if you are going to keep the boat for any lenght of time. See you in Maryland-----Rich

Marine Surveyor - Pt. Townsend, WA area?

Hi Roger-- good luck with your transaction, you also may need a survey depending on the policies of your insurance company. A good source is SAMS (not Sams Club), at www.marinesurveyors.org/ They have several listings for surveyors in your general area and actually quite a few for Washington...

    France Canal Boat C-Brat gathering

Hello all-- Mid May, June, or Sept, to mid Oct. are probably the best times to be on the canals, less traffic, and these are USUALLY the months of the best weather, it can get very warm in July and Aug. especially on steel barges and these barges don't really get a whole lot of air circulation...

    France Canal Boat C-Brat gathering

Count us in, any time is good just remember, the sooner the better, we are not getting any younger. We should go while "all the women are still strong and the men are still good looking." Best to figure at least a two week time period, with about 7-8 days on the canal. See...

Hi All- when we were there a few years ago the Penichettes(made out of fiberglass) were based out of Joigny (south of Paris) they actually have three different styles, price at the time was $750-$900 U.S. per week. 06/02 - 06/04 - Lankford Bay Marina, Eastern Shore

WOW!! looks like both the Lopez and the Chesapeake gatherings will be well attended. Hard to believe over 70 boats at both events. Just a few years ago any gathering was lucky to attract 5 or 6 C-Dories, very interesting to see how this group has developed in the past five years, I believe...

Hi- I have been running a 50 hp Evinrude and an 8 hp Evinrude on my 16' cruiser and feel this is probably as close as you can get to the best setup, I sure wouldn't want any less hp.
