Cruiser 22 twin Honda 50s Performance numbers

Too may variables to give you any great detail but here's a sampling. I have an 07 with twin Honda 50s (BTW I think there ought to be a forum just for twins). My log says about 1.7 GPH or about 5-6 mpg. I'm a cruiser and spend two and three days out at a time mostly in calm seas. I like to...

    Towing to the Gulf

Hey Bob How much time do you allot for towing from Calfiornia to Pensacola? MapQuest says 30 hours. 4,5,6 days? If I understand you correctly your prefered route is through Dallas...where do head south from I20? I'll probably fly my wife out so she can stay with the "kids" (two Huskies and a...

    Wallas Stove - Purchase One?

Bought mine from Scan Marine. Great support...easy to install. See all the pictures of the install in SeaQueen Album Other's have documented their installs also. I wouldn't be without the Wallas.

    Towing to the Gulf

Can I hire you to tell my wife that it's a medical necessity that I leave southern California? (insert coughing smiley here) Much of the traveling we are doing is to show my wife there are beautiful places with clean air. We just spent three months in Point Arena California. Great air very...

    Towing to the Gulf

Thanks Bob...will PM you later. Is there a best time to visit the Gulf? Storms with names scare me but when I drove through 10 years ago I really fell in love with the area. My motorhome didn't like Louisiana either. Maybe if we ever get together I'll tell you the story of when my rig broke...

    Towing to the Gulf

I'm considering towing down to the Gulf of Mexico for some diving. Can C-Brats in Pensicola, Apalachacola, Eastpoint, Panama City and the like chime in here for some recomendations? I'll need a place to launch and stow the trailer. Some nice places to visit. Some easy dive spots to re-aquaint...

Catalina - Avalon, Annual Dive Cleanup

I didn't dive. I was just visiting the crew that was working the dive(ugly green hats) as they are old friends. I played a major role in the Catalina Conservancy of Divers while I was a oceanographer (now retired). It's a waining organization due to conflicts with the parent organization and it...

    C-Brats biggest loser

Wow...I'm impressed with the competitive spirit. I few words from a fitness fanatic might be helpful here. Since I'm fifty now and my wife is &* years old we can chime in with a bit of wisdom. #1 make piece with the floor. Get down there and stretch stretch stretch. Put away your easy chair and...

Catalina - Avalon, Annual Dive Cleanup

Thanks I posted pictures of the two boats together in the Sea Queen gallary. See Recently Udated Photos for a link. Html language befudles me so I haven't figured out how to post pictures in replies or hot links for that matter. A little tutorial would be appreciated. First mate Sona and me...

Catalina - Avalon, Annual Dive Cleanup

Unlike you I waited until Sunday to clear out. It was a close call. Small craft warning until 10a due to coastal range storms and possible water spouts and 17ft swell coming late in the afternoon. We squeezed in between. BTW This was my first cleanup since leaving the sponsoring group Catalina...

    Running Wallas Underway?

Me too. I brew a cup or make some soup to keep warm. When using the Wallas just for heat underway I use the original fan. When moored or anchored I use an Ecofan.

    tow vehicles

I'll be the odd man out. I have a Regular cab Chevy 1500 with a 4.3L automatic. It's kinda like my CDC...doesn't get there fast but gets decent mpg. On a recent highway trip I got more than 17 mpg.

    West Marine RU-260 Dinghy

I have the Achilles version RU 260. 8'6" I't comical to row beacuse of the useless seat. It's a compromise. I like the fact I can roll it up which it is most of the time. I have the weight at 62lbs? I put it on the cabin roof once. It wasn't easy as I have a radome in the middle. It cleared...

    Twin Honda Prop Request

Mine are 11 X 13 OEMs... I used to be concerned that I never saw anything above 3500 until I saw a post that said. " Prop pitch and size? I don't care...boat goes fast and slow enough." The boat probably would do 30 knotts lightly loaded and I'm not a troller and don't pull skiers so I'm good...

Tentative New Deal Would Remove Klamath River Dams

I was hoping somebody would look at the obvious drive behind the removal of the Dams. $$ This is though a win win situation. Many aging infrastructures in the U.S. are potential win wins if taken down, abandoned or reclaimed. Dams have life spans and the cost of maintaining these old ones can't...

    Uh Oh!

My wife buys a newspaper once a month. She likes the way it fires up the wood stove. The worms in our composter love it too. I wrap fish in it. Newspapers are far superior to T.V.s in my opinion. Recession is like a tide. If you follow history and prepare ahead of time your tires won't slip...
