Truck & trailer storage on Florida's east coast

Toni and I heading to the east coast to spend the summer cruising. We hope to make a Bahama crossing if the weather permits and cruise the intracoastal waterway north. We would like to find secure long term parking for our truck and trailer at a good "jump off" point on Florida's east coast. Any...

    South Sound points of interest

Toni and I will be putting the new "Traveler", Ranger 27, in at Swantown/ Olympia next Monday or Tuesday. We will be working our way up through the sound to the Bellingham gathering and would like to know points of interest, favorite anchorages or mooring buoys, quaint towns, restaurants...

    Traveler going to new owner

Our beloved boat Traveler will be presented to its new owners, Tom and Marlyn from Florida, next month. I believe they will attend the Friday Harbor gathering, please share with them the friendship you have given Toni and me. I hope they enjoy their new boat as much as we have, I'm sure they...

    Not a vacation

Its starting to hit home that I'm not on vacation and I probably will never take another again. Its possible I could stay retired for the rest of my life. But like other challenges in my life I feel I am up to the task. Last weekend when most people left the Friday Harbor gathering Toni and I...

    Chevy / GMC trailer fuses

This may have been brought up sometime in the past but its new to me and I thought I would pass it along. Did you know that Chevrolet and GMC trucks have separate fused circuits for trailer connectors? My running lights worked fine on our 2006 Chevy truck but wouldn't work on the trailer, I...

    Navman installation

Has anyone installed a Navman with a 5/16" fuel line? The instructions say 3/8" but I don't want to change all the fuel lines if it works with 5/16". Or can you just splice in a section of 3/8" line?

    Waste tank problem

My waste tank came loose somehow last year, it pinched the fuel line, the pump ball collapsed, and the engine died and would not start. I was on the lower Columbia river and was not in danger, I anchored, changed the fuel filter, notified the Coast Guard, and after much frustration tracked it...

    Wheel bearing/brake trouble after paradise

Twelve fantastic days at Lake Powell, great visit with fellow brats last Sunday. We left Wednesday to try to get a few days cruise at Flaming Gorge, put in at Mustang Ridge Thursday at 4:00 pm, at the ramp I noticed that both the braking tires were black with grease. It was too late to do too...

    Water under V-berth

I have discovered water under the V-berth. I know there has been an earlier discussion about this problem but I can't locate it with the search engine. I think it is coming from the rode locker, I have an inspection plate so water removal shouldn't be a problem. Any help on the repair will be...

    Our search is over

After way too much research and alot of indecision, Toni and I decided that the C-Dory 25' Cruiser is the right boat for us right now, the C-Ranger R25 might be the boat in our future but not for now. Two weekends ago we drove to California to look at Don & Mary's (PHANTOM) 2005 25' Cruiser and...
