    Halibut Opener 2013

Halibut opened in Puget Sound and the Strait on May 2. We caught three in four hours on the opener. 42, 35 and 32 lbs. East of Dallas Bank. Great weather to boot.

    SeaHooked has a New Home

SeaHooked is now sold. It has a new home in Cornet Bay (WA) with C-Brats Rod and Jane. Certainly sad to see her go but comfort in knowing the new owners have adventures planned way beyond my capabilities.

    End of Summer Adjustment

I looked out the window this morning and noted our beautiful summer is now over. Late in starting but longer than anticipated for the Pacific NW. That realization has prompted me to decrease the price of my CD25 to $56,900. Only one person has looked at the boat to date since I posted it in...

Copying a photo from my album to a post

Can someone give me the quick an easy way to copy a photo in my album to a new post? I know this has been covered previously, but I can't seem to find it. Thanks,

Custom Teak Cabin Floor on a CD-25

Recently I completed my 3-section teak cabin floor project. This removed the curvature of the cabin floor plus raised the center of the aisle about 3". Both are big pluses in my opinion (the latter at least for us non-tall guys). And then there's the beauty of the teak and holly. Per Bob’s...

    2006/7 25 Cruiser $56,900 (Edmonds, WA)

SEAHOOKED is for sale. This boat is officially a 2006 as the hull number was reserved during the January 2006 Seattle Boat Show however it was built and fitted for me by EQ Marine in June-July 2006. It went through the factory after the 2007s were already in production. This is truly a ‘Les...

    Intermittent Wiper Solution?

Has anyone come up with a good intermittent wiper solution? Other than the obvious finger of course. Thanks,

Advice on Teaking the Cabin Floor

I'm looking for a new boat project... I'm strongly considering putting in a teak floor in the cabin of my CD25. I believe it would look fantastic as well as level out the aggravating curve of the floor. And since I'm only 5'9", I don't mind give up two or three inches of cabin clearance...

    Questions moving to covered moorage

Seahooked is making the move from dry storage to covered wet moorage at Edmonds marina later this month. Bottom paint is scheduled for next week, along with zincs on the trim tabs. Some questions since this is new territory for me: - What cleaner can you use in the cockpit and on the exposed...

    Boat Calendars????

Has anyone run into a good 2008 boat calendar? I'm not having any luck finding anything beyond lighthouses, sailboats, or megayachts. Small powerboaters seem to be under represented.

    5200 or 4200 sealant

In the next few days I'm planning on checking the screws that penetrate the balsa core in the cockpit area of my 2006 CD25 to make sure they are sealed properly. This includes both bilge pumps and other brackets. If I find any without sealant would 3M 5200 or 4200 be more appropriate? I have...

    Mobile Boat Maintenance

First let me say that this thread is by no means a solicitation of work but rather an honest request for experiences, knowledge, and opinions… My brother is considering starting a mobile boat maintenance business in Florida. He is a very talented mechanic (his current profession) but not...

    Mounting a Fire Extinguisher

I want to mount a fire extinguisher against the starboard wall behind the Wallas. Does anyone know offhand the hull thickness on a CD25 in this area? I don't want to decorate the outside of the boat.

    Ice in Puget Sound

I was boating with my family yesterday from Edmonds to Poulsbo and encountered about 1/2 mile of broken ice (not slush) upon entering Liberty Bay. It covered about half of the bay and appeared to extend from shore to shore. I'm a newbie to boating in winter and am curious about how common it...

    Wallas Exhaust Problem

About a month ago the Wallas on my 2006 CD25 filled the cabin with exhaust fumes. I had used the heater a few times prior without problem. On this particular day the Sound was a little rough and (I recollect) I heard a bang, after which I looked under the heater and observed white smoke...

    Problem with Wiper Coverage

I have a weird problem with wiper coverage on my new CD-25. On the port side window the wiper misses a 3"x2" (h x w) section in the bottom center portion of the sweep. I originally believed the glass was distorted, however I verified with a machinist's rule that this was not the case. That...

    Sticky Sliding Windows

The sliding windows on my new CD25 are very hard to move back and forth. I was about to try some silicon grease as a lubricant, but I'm concerned the grease will be an attractant for dirt and end up making things worse in the long run. Is there something better to use such as graphite or...

    Seahooked on the water

On Saturday we picked up our new CD-25 from Les and Kathy at EQ Marine and drove her from Cornet Bay to her new home in Edmonds dry storage. Some initial observations from a boater of limited experience (none with a C-Dory): - I love the way the boat handles, including reverse; and the...
