    C-Brats connect in San Diego

Tony and Diane from Phoenix (C-View) just stopped by to introduce themselves here at Kona Kai. It was fun to meet them and even better to learn they have a sailboat at the other end of this dock! We compared notes a bit and learned we both like Lake Powell, no surprise. They came aboard...

Lightning and thunder in the San Juan's

Wow, I wonder how many C-Brats are experiencing these powerful displays? Last night was another night full of nature's fireworks and this evening we have been witnessing several evening hours of large flashes of gigantic jagged lightning and rumbling, rolling thunder that seems to almost shake...

    Ranger Tug

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all! Great news to share on this day for the "wearing of the green." My son has purchased a 25SC Ranger Tug (green trim) which is the same model as Ruth and Joe's. I will be the lucky caretaker for this family boat! The boat's name is Cascadia, the same name as the...

    SeaCoaster is sold

Thanks for all the fun times and help. SeaCoaster is now going to be living with a new family from Bellevue, WA. They love to fish off of Seiku, and have noticed C-Dory boats there for many years. A special thanks to Jim States and Tom Elliott for their assistance. I hope to be out kayaking...

    Sea Coaster/BaseCampAnne update

I was a total rookie when I joined the C-Brats in late 2007 and have received lots of excellent help and met new friends ever since! Since signing on I have attended gatherings at Friday Harbor, Jarrell Cove, Bellingham and The Seattle Boat Show, traveled for a week in the Gulf Islands with...

    new lazarette covers for sale

Hi, I have 2 brand new covers and the cut out guide still in the original plastic for sale. I live in Kenmore, WA between Bothell and Kirkland. I believe the cost was approximately $76.00. Is anyone interested in purchasing them since I am not going to use them? Thanks in advance, Anne Cox

    Garmin GPSMAP 740s

Have any of you added one of these :?: I am thinking of adding radar at some point to my 22' so used that as an excuse to look at this. It appears to be very user-friendly :!: According to Andrew at Harbor Marine in Everett, WA the dome can sit on the boat top as long as it is not directly...

    A new Lake Powell story

A group of 11 sea kayakers gathered at Bullfrog, Utah, Oct. 3 for a mellow trip, practically guaranteed by renting a houseboat. It began in an interesting way; the first day we were unable to leave the dock due to very high winds. The weather cleared, we did some exploring, enjoyed lazy days...

Things that make noise in the daylight?

Hi all, After leaving the great Bellingham gathering I was crusing alongside Lummi Island at 6.5 knots when suddenly a screeching rhythmic noise suddenly came from the carbon monoxide monitor :!: I tried several experiments with no luck. The manual states to call 911. Well, I knew there was...

    Another Master Marine salesman gone

I thought that those of you who were at the Friday Harbor gathering and/or Bellingham might like to know that Rob, the salesman from Master Marine, no longer works there. Rob worked with me to get some repairs done on Sea Coaster that were needed due to installation errors. He also saw to it...

Operational Facility use for CG Auxiliary

Sea Coaster (22 ft) is likely going to become an OF at some point and I am wondering what others have done to strengthen the towing capabilities? (Interestingly I was asked to tow a sailboat in Anacortes Saturday into the marina since the motor was down. I declined) I belong to the Edmonds group...

WA State Marine Park camping this weekend?

It sounds like the hot weather is almost here. Is anyone going to be camping at a WA state marine park this weekend or over the 4th? Gus and I are thinking of heading out. Anne Cox

quiet, smooth riding, good gas mileage

Perhaps this question arises from traveling to Gatherings that require quite a bit of travel to arrive:-) What is optimum speed for the 22' cruiser for quietness, smooth riding and best mpg? I am wondering what is the best way to experience all of the above? I heard from someone that getting...

extra fuses and bulbs for 22 cruiser

I am hoping someone might have a list put together for extra fuses and bulbs (?) for the current 22' cruisers. I know it is wise to have them along, so am hoping to find a list already done :D Thanks, Anne

    22' come with 2 batteries?

I believe I read on someone's post that our boats come with 2 installed batteries from the factory. Can anyone verify that? Thanks, Anne

    fuses

Does anyone have a list of the fuses to fit the 22' Cruiser? I need to get some for backup and before crawling around in various locations thought some might have a handy list and even a diagram perhaps of where each one goes. A wish, at least  Thanks, Anne

    cleats,fenders and tying up

I have been experimenting with my 22' and wonder where others place the fender lines on the middle (widest) section of our boats? It seems to me that the cleat is too low to be of use with many docks so I am guessing that most folks tie off from the grab rails on top of the boat, correct...

second anchor ? for Coast Guard auxiliary members

I am curious what you use for your two anchors on a 22' cruiser? And where do you store the second one and with how much chain/line? Thanks,

    windless and anchor issues

I still don't get why I have an anchor problem. I have a Lewmar Pro Series Windlass and the normal roller (I think). The anchor hangs up and the salesman told me everyone goes out on the bow or reaches through the window to release it. This seems counter intuitive to me...why spend the money for...
