    13 ft Heavy Duty Kaboat

I recently purchased a 13ft Heavy Duty Kabot. I like the boat with the larger tubes and more chambers, but - After inflating and putting it on top of my 22, I feel it is too heavy for me deal with. The return shipping and re-stock fee is almost not worth returning it. If anyone has been...

    Thermostat corrosion

I left my thermostat too long and had to work to get it out. The housing and cover are encrusted with, I think, mostly salt corrosion. Any suggestions for cleaning away the corrosion without damaging the aluminium? Thanks, Steve

    Lenco Trim Tab Problem

I have Lenco trim tabs were installed when I purchased my boat in 2004. I just realized one of the tabs is not working. I took a look at it today and the port tab does not move. Looking at the wire that comes through the transom into the top of the actuator I see a small break in the wire...

I am considering options for a backup chart plotter and depth sounder. My Raymarine C80 display is having some issues and after doing some research I think it can be fixed but even so would like a backup system. Seaward Marine advertises on Ebay to repair the displays with a one year warranty...

I did not double check! Help!

I did not double check and installed a new battery reversed. I did not even turn on the power after installation. When I turned on the power to get ready to take the boat out my bilge pump was running constantly. After checking several things and pushing some switches (another smart move - NOT)...

Replacement of older G4 Tie Down disc brakes

I have an 04 King trailer and went out to check the brake pads. The first wheel I looked at had frozen pistons in the caliper. I was able to push out one piston but don't think there are rebuild kits for these. Has anyone replaced the Tie Down G4 with stainless rotors with a newer system? Tie...

Any So. Cal. brats ever go to Catalina for Thanksgiving? My Mom decided to take the family to Catalina for Thanksgiving and we are wondering what activities might be available. It looks like there might be some rain but mostly mid 60's. Any one know if they do anything special at two harbors...

    Kicker question

I have a friend always lets the kicker run dry on fuel at the end of an outing. I think the reason is that he believes that if the fuel is left in the carb it can cause problems if the motor is not used for some time. What do other think? If you are not going to use your kicker for a few weeks...

    Four stroke mantainance

I have a 2004 Johnson 90. Same motor as the Suzuki. So far I have used the recommended Evinrude/Johnson synthetic motor oil. I am trying to decide if I should stick with that (expensive and farther to go to get) or go with something I can get local. So what is your opinion? Do you use only...

    opinions on chevy transmission

I have a 2001 half ton Silverado with about 155000 miles on it. It has been a good tow vehicle so far but is showing its age. I have not had any problems with the transmission but I do notice it is not a tight as it used to be. A couple of times when I put it in reverse it has not shifted...
