    RACOR Fuel Filter

Thanks guys, that makes me feel a little better. But after researching this a little more last night (and getting worried), I have to ask: what happens to the air in a filter that you don't fill with gas or bleed?

    RACOR Fuel Filter

My unit is the white metal Racor one (gas engine), with metal bowl. Filter cannister is S3228TUL. The instructions for replacing the cannister tell me to fill the new cannister with gasoline before screwing it on. I did not do this when replacing my filter this afternoon. Instead, I figured...

    RACOR Fuel Filter

after searching for Racor for another problem/question. But, I will say that I was JUST barely able to pry my metal bowl away from the filter this afternoon on the boat. Did not have to resort to the vice (11 miles away), but was one step away.

    A Giant OOOOHHHPPS today

In this guy's defense, he DID keep his trailer hubs dry. Plus, the launch must have been much faster.

trim tabs, do I need them? Brand or model choice..

Hi Jay, We got the XerSeas out last weekend, finally. Saw a green C-Dory in the Cochrane Bay area on Sunday - yours? Thanks for the views of your boat last month - it did help to give me a little motivation. Spent about 40 hrs of work cleaning up my boat and finally got 'er in the water...

    Buying a boat long distance

Tug, I just did this last year. I decided to fly a surveyor to teh small town the boat was in ($100) to survey the vessel ($200). It was good peace of mind money. The surveyor missed some minor things, and was not asked to asses others (e.g., the extras with the boat) but all in all I am...

Repairing small drill holes in hull

Jimbo, good eye. I haven't shopped around for any. I'll send you and PM when and if I do. It's about #25 on my list of things to tackle.

Repairing small drill holes in hull

OK, I just got around to doing this. Backed out 14 screws from transom, including the ones that had held on the dastardly "Smart Tabs" that made the boat run like a Weeble-Wobble. Screw holes in the transom above waterline (4 of them) were dry. Screw holes in transom below waterline, not so...

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

Removed 25 screws from the roof of XerxSeas that were holding on various brackets and whatnot under the old regime. 4 of the screws were stainless steel. 3 needed to be cut off with a hacksaw. The wife, looking on from the office window, says "that roof looks a lot better without all that...

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

Does anyone have any photos of overhead shelf (above the helm station) installed in a Classic (without the raised roof)? I've been looking unsuccessfully thru the different photo albums. Would like to see check for any last-minute visual ideas before I start cutting myself.

New Brat needs some ideas (or help) with roof configuration

Good comments. I'd actually looked for a couple hrs at different setups, first searching for the topic, then sorting by all C-Dories of my vintage/size that had photo albums. I still haven't found what I'm exactly looking for, which is a shot of a dinghy mounted on crossbars, with the radar...

New Brat needs some ideas (or help) with roof configuration

So I posted last August after finally joining the herd, and said at the time that the boat was a little ugly compared to the rest of the jewels here, and would thus remain invisible as I worked on it. Well, the time has come to share some pics, and the XerxSeas now has a photo album...
