How can I reach a moderator?

Thanks very much. I had already posted the new price of $24,000 below my listing... Am guessing the Moderator will catch this and change it in the ad...?

How can I reach a moderator?

I'm trying to change my asking price for my '91 22' C-Dory in the listing. I believe I have to, somehow, "reach" the Moderator to do this but I can't seem to find out how... Help will be much appreciated! Thank you, Wes Shaw

Need recommendation on a hand held GPS

I own 7 or 8 Garmins (3 hand-helds and the rest fixed) and the DeLorme Earthmate PN 20 handheld. It is by far the best and most accurate of them all. The charting/mapping software is superior, satellite view excellent, and it is extremely user friendly... Waterproof/resistant I take it with...

    Uh Oh!

Thank you for the Nash pic.... It does bring back many memories from the 50's. His car before the Nash was a LaSalle with the running boards and rumble seat I sat wrapped in many a time... After the straight-8 block cracked when the old antifreeze went dead he gave it to me but I foolishly...

    Uh Oh!

Reading these reminded me of back in the 50's when I was talking a 'girl' to the Junior prom. She had on a pretty dress with all those hoops etc. and was nervous about riding in the cab of my 1939 Ford pick-up. Sooooooooo, I asked my Dad if I could just possible use his Nash (one of the ones...

Any Downeast Maine get-to gethers planned?

Hello Charlie.... Nice to hear from you and I've spent many a blissfull night at Roque Island back in my 'younger' sail/cruising days. Would enjoy getting together when you're here this fall and sharing C-Dory stories, etc.... There's another 22 in South Gouldsboro within 6 miles of my spot...

Any Downeast Maine get-to gethers planned?

Just visiting the site for first time a a while and wondered if there'd been any discussions of a Downeast gathering, etc., this summer??? (I'm located in Winter Harbor — just east of Mt. Desert Island...). Thanks, Wes

Towing a dinghy at high speeds

Dear Lloyds... Totally agree with you re. the 'sweet spot' on back of second stern wave and had to chuckle when you mention the rope burns.... I always take a turn around a stern cleat or post and pay her out slowly... I bring her in a bit, if necessary, by milking the standing portion...

Towing a dinghy at high speeds

Prfofessional Hobyist: Regarding the "fixed" tow method, I'd strongly recommend against it for reasons cited in the other responses AND, especially, the importance of having both vessel and dinghy/skiff/towed boat ride in SYNC with the swells—especially when running downwind in heavy swells...

    Kicker shaft length on CD-22?

With a 'new to me' last fall C-Dory 1991 Cruiser, I'm developing my work list for the "coming spring" (ha!) here on the DownEast Maine coast..... She came with a newer 90 hp Yamaha and an old 9.9 Suzuki kicker. With some use this fall and early winter the 9.9 seems to run OK but I do have an...

    My Wallas stove has "died"......

Hi Jay..... Thanks very much for the advice re. the Wallas. I called and reached a very pleasant and informative fellow, Bruce (Karl has apparently been gone for over a year...). In the end his best suggestion was/is to send her out for a complete re-build given that it is the original...

    My Wallas stove has "died"......

Hi there and thanks so much for the many responses....! After going to some of the references I believe I've erred in running two gallons of that hi-priced clean K-1 that Home Depot sells thru the stove. (Someone had 'told' me that I should use the best K-1 you could buy. Comments of the...

    My Wallas stove has "died"......

Sorry to trouble you but as a new (4-week) owner of a well-maintained 1991 22 ftr., I've been very happy with this, my 26th boat in 67 years. The Wallas stove has made the closed cabin so much more enjoyable and useable here In Winter Harbor on the Downeast Maine coast. Largely due to this...

    Uh Oh!

Hi Marvin... You make a good point. I had considered taking the money out of one of my Fidelity retirement accounts but that became a joke these last few months....! I really squeaked a good deal when I cashed out a 4.6% CD to buy the C-Dory but mentally, at least at the moment, the 'joy' of...
