    Prop help

This aluminum $120 prop (Turning Point Hustler 4 Blade 13.5x 15) delivers 24Kts /6200 RPM at WOT on our 22 Cruiser/BF90 lightly loaded. And 15Kts/ 4.500 RPM 4 blade props have better reverse thrust, more lift/better hole shot than 3 blade screws, generally a 3 blade will have a bit more...

    Binoculars revisited

Have used two pair of Alpen apex 8x42's for 8 years primarily used for birding, but work well aboard. Bright & sharp glass. No issues with either pair do date. Primary boat glass is Steiner 7x50, 10+ years and still doing a great job. Picked up a pair of Nikon action extreme ATB 10x50's...

    Removal of racor fuel filter.

I have drilled a 1/8" hole through the side of the Racor filter about 1/16" above the edge of the metal base. (just above the fuel bowl) Push a small cotter key into the hole . The pin prevents the inner plastic ring from spinning inside the metal housing of the filter

    19 ' Angler- Will a 75 hr work?

We have a Honda BF90D on our 19 Angler. At sea level, with 3 on board, light gear and topped up on fuel running a 15" prop WOT is 34mph. I have often thought that a 75 would be an even better match for our purposes. Ran the boat for the first season without a Permatrim. Installing one definitely...

    Hatch Cover Adhesive/Sealant

Sikaflex 221 has preformed well for me sealing inspection ports. But they also have screws fastening them in place.3M 4200 would work well and might have more adhesive strength if there are no mechanical fasteners holding the vent on the hatch.

transom / motor well trim separating and leaking oil

There are o ring seals that fit under the heads of the machine screws that close both the vent(top) and drain/fill(bottom) openings in the lower unit. The o rings are inexpensive and easily removed and replaced. Water can enter the gear case though the same leak the gear oil is coming out of...
