Anyone have a C-Dory 25 cruiser near Wilmington, NC

Hi Sean. I would definitely go with the 25. Enclosed head, bigger beam, more space, bigger motor(s). Yes, the price difference is very large.... but life is short. 🙂

    New high (low?) for C-Dorys?

Interesting thread. Yeah, over the years I've always been intrigued by the C Dory prices.

Hi Brad. Welcome to the group. I see you're from Mass. I am as well. I started off with a C Dory 16 angler. Let me know if you have any questions Jason

    2008 C-Dory 28 ft Diesel

No standup head?! The 25 and 26 seem to have a better head. That's interesting

electric c-dory and speed with kickers

Good luck OP. I would say the CD hull would not be ideal for that. It's a planing hull. I guess maybe on a quiet, inland canal it could work with winds of less than 5 knots.

    Cockpit Drain System

I owned a 25 for a short time. Here's some info..... http://www.c-brats.com/viewtopic.php?t=26333 As far as the black water....I don't remember there being an overboard discharge and macerator. But I may be wrong. All I remember doing is using the pump outs at my marina.

Is 50hp too small for a 22’ Cruiser?

Seems very underpowered. But if you can negotiate that into your purchase price then maybe it's not a deal breaker. How is the rest of the boat? Electronics, canvas, radar etc? If you love boat and it's well equipped then maybe the motor can be "lived with" for now and then upgraded in a year or 2.

    Boston/Quincy MA area cbrats intro

Hey Jim, my wife and I live in Quincy (Wollaston area). I've had several C Dory's over the years and would love to help you in your decision. Gimme a call or text anytime, or we could even meet in person too if you like. There aren't many C Dory's in Boston and Mass. But occasionally you'll...

    Looking at a 25' C-dory: Advice please

I had an 07. Not much to worry about on C dory's other than the coring and the engine. My cockpit hatch had a good amount of rotted wood and the little step was rotted too. Not a big deal. It can easily be pulled out and repaired. While pulling it out , it's also a good time to inspect the fuel...

Advice on mooring my boat for the summer

I own my own helix mooring in Cape Cod (although I'm currently boatless). For a C Dory, I wouldn't worry too much. Make sure you have good lines and chafing gear. And always inspect it when you go to the boat. It'd be nice to cover the cockpit but it's not necessary. A good bilge pump would be...

    Boating Alone

I boated ALONE for a long time and loved it. I never felt scared or intimidated but I'm a very independent person. I really enjoyed it too and felt a sense of accomplishment when I'd pull into new places (especially marinas or moorings). The only thing I never got comfortable with was anchoring...
