Cutting leg opening in passenger side forward bulkhead

We removed the top shelf also. One of the many reasons to do this mod is to accommodate sleeping for taller folks. You do have to build a small "shelf" with a pad to extend the berth. Taking the top shelf out allows much better access and allows that sleeper to sit up. You can reuse the black...

    Battery Power Packs

I checked with the Ecoflow manufacturer and they said I could not connect their power pack directly into my 12v battery. Darn.

    Battery Power Packs

We are looking at the Goal Zero Yeti 500x or the Ecoflow River Pro portable power packs for using in our boat and RV. Can these units be connected directly onto the terminals of the existing 12v batteries to add additional amp hours to the existing battery? Thanks Gene

    Hand to electric winch conversion

I see a lot of comments about having to run a cable through the truck to the battery in front. I have a Ford F150 with 4 pin connector and a 7 pin connector in the back. Won't one of those work for connecting the electric winch.... or does the winch require a heavier cable? Thanks Gene

    Hand to electric winch conversion

We are thinking about converting our hand winch to an electric winch on our trailer. Anyone have any suggestions or pitfalls for the conversion? Any suggestions on a manufacturer? Thanks

    V Berth Size in 22, 23 and 25

If you are not satisfied with the available length in the 22 v berth, many cbrats, myself included, have removed the bulkhead between the v berth and the port seat. It not only gives additional room in the v berth but makes the port seat not as cramped. You can still leave the shelf above.

    Leaking RIB

They are Halkey Roberts valves and checking on the internet there is an inside piece that the outer piece threads into. I didn't see it at first because it had fallen into the inside. So the question is, should I put some sealant between the outer flange and the rubber before I tighten the...

    Leaking RIB

I got that tool to remove the valve to check it and removed the valve today. I was really surprised to see that the valve screwed right into the rubber. The rubber area around the valve seems to be reinforced and the threads on the valve are fairly fine so it takes quite a few turns to get the...

    Torqueedo Cruise 4.0 TS- 8hp

We're looking at an electric outboard for a 14' Lund. The Torqueedo seems to be the best quality. Looking on the internet for lower HP rated outboards, it seems up to a 5hp is available but the Torqueedo Cruise 4.0 TS- 8hp is not available. Anybody know why the 8hp is not available? How fast...

Has anyone used Toobseal or another product for sealing the interior tubes of RIBs. If you have was it successful? thanks

    Leaking RIB

The internet says to add some glycerin to the soap solution. It makes the bubbles stand out more. My first action will be replacing the valves. If it still leaks I'll continue with the soap/glycerin solution paying close attention to seams. If that doesn't work I'll try Toobseal to try to seal...

    Leaking RIB

Hardee- its an Endeavor purchased in 2010-2011. Looking on the internet now it is probably polyurethane. It has been consistently stored inside. Randywusa- looking on the internet it is an HR valve and the spanner wrench costs $12.95. Seems like a good purchase. The RIB has two chambers and...

What's Seattle really like these days?

Having been born in Bellevue/Kirkland before it was the "east side" and lived in Seattle (the city) for a long long time, this has been a very entertaining thread. My observation is that most people like where they live or are at least used to it. Its true that Seattle seems to have a lot of...

    Leaking RIB

My RIB has a slow leak somewhere. I sprayed a solution of ~1/2 water to ~1/2 liquid detergent over the rubber tubes but didn't see anything. Are there any other methods of finding a slow leak or is that just the nature of RIBs and I just have to live with blowing it up occasionally? Thanks

    Trailer Swivel Jack

I bought a Fulton XLT. It has 3 zerk fittings, one for the handle to shaft gears, a second below for the shaft (I assume) and a third at the bottom for the wheel rotation. It also has a seal between the tubes so salt water can't enter between the tubes. Hope this one lasts longer than 1 year.
