    75 HP Honda Rough Idle

In my experience... By the time the jet gets clogged, fuel additives won't USUALLY help as they don't get a chance to get near the plugged jet. At that point the only thing that will help is to pull the carbs apart and unplug the jet with a tool (IE: small wire or welding tip cleaner depending...

Recommendation for Shop to Do Trailer Bearings and Brakes?

Ouch! Gary will certainly be able to handle that for you. It is easy but tedious work ;) I'm guessing that you will end up getting a new backing plate kit that already has the brake parts on it for that wheel. Then some bearing buddies and a full bearing repack.

    75 HP Honda Rough Idle

This sounds like a fuel delivery problem. If this is carbureted, I would bet that you have a plugged up idle jet on one of your carbs. If this is the case, you will need to rebuild the carbs to solve the problem.

How to make a vacuum power brake bleeder

CA is your typical super glue. My bleeder came with an adapter similar to this. I ground down the edges of it to get a good seal on the actuator. BTW: This would likely be less expensive than making your own and would work great.

How to make a vacuum power brake bleeder

That is what I would do. I would simply drill the correct size for the NPT size of the fitting, and screw it on with some CA glue on the threads. The plastic should be strong enough to hold the fitting and the CA should keep it from leaking.

How to make a vacuum power brake bleeder

While a vacuum bleeder is good, I actually prefer a pressure bleeder. With the vacuum ones it is very hard to tell when you have gotten all the air out. Also, you are relying on the threads of the bleeder screws to hold the vacuum. This results in falsely thinking you have air in the system when...

Need New Handheld Backup GPS - Thoughts?

I really like the looks of the new Garmin Nuvi 500/550! Sharie has a Nuvi 255w and the interface on it is great. I'll likely be purchasing one of the 500/550 models as soon as I get the boat running for an interim solution while I save up for the chart plotter. The battery on the 255 lasts a...

    San Juan Islands to Nanaimo

I would NEVER take eggs across. Twice my wife has forgotten to remove them when crossing on the road and had to then be fully checked because of it.

King dual axle trailer disc break questions

Depending on the type of caliper it is you could have two different problems. If it has pistons on both sides of the caliper than it likely has air trapped on the side that has no wear. You will need to be very careful to bleed the brakes so that there is no air anywhere in the system. If it...

Resins - A Little Off Topic

I think Bob has the right idea. Truck bed liner would be a good way to go. But I think I would also use an initial coat of epoxy, and also use fiberglass tape on the corners to make sure you get a good seal. Then put the truck bed liner over that. Basically, epoxy seal the floor, walls, and...

    Tandem Axle Trailer Alignment

Alignment on trailers is fairly simple. As stated above you first want to make sure to check that the center of the hub is an equal distance to the center of the ball. Once you have that measurement correct you need to check the toe on each axle. Do this by finding a reliable spot on the tire or...

    Questions re hot surge brakes

I think I would switch over to the electric/hydraulic option myself. As for the grease, I would definitely switch over the grease. I would opt for a Synthetic Marine rated grease such as Amsoil or Mobile 1 makes. Synthetics typically handle higher heat better than a non synthetic. I would...

My Transom Repair Project on my 1983 27

Well my son Justin came over on Friday and got a lot of work done on the transom. He got 99% of the wood out of the cut out section. Now I need to go in and grind the edges smooth and clean out the small amount of wood that is left. Here is a picture I took while looking through the hole where...
