Every year I do this, I remain in awe that I can fit two grown men, 4 shrimp pots, 4 sets of buoys and ropes as well as a variety of buckets in the cockpit of a 16 foot Angler.

So much more space with the 400 foot shrimp pot ropes on the winders rather than in a coil or bucket.

Apparent long standing leak in the Bomar hatch screws with water infiltration in the deck coring.

Pulled the hatch. Water damage and infiltration apparent around all edges of the hatch opening.

At least the water logged coring was easy to remove.

Water damage extended about 3 inches on aft side.

Water damage 2 to 3 inches to starboard.

About 3 inches of damage to coring forward. Screwdriver sinking in to coring nicely.

Only 2 inches extending to port.

Had to drop the front bulkhead to access the area of damage on the aft side of the hatch. Front bulk head held on by a sealant and screws. Not sure if sealant was factory original or not.

Ended up removing the front bulkhead for access, had to cut back the bottom side of the deck about 4 inches or so around the hatch opening to access all the damaged coring.
