1984 18 ft $ 9800

This could be a good deal, especially for someone looking for a 16 but wanting a bit more room. I didn't know C-Dory made any 18s, but that Oldgrowth Dave did a major modification on his 16 and it became a stretched 16 or actually an 18, with saddle tanks.

There weren't many CD-18's produced, but the one I remember the most belonged to a certain Mr. Byrd from Tennessee known as Byrdman:

Byrdman (Patrick) and C-Byrd, his CD-18.

There's a complete discussion on the restoration of this boat somewhere on this site:

WOW, Joe, that's pretty cool. I didn't remember (or didn't know), Pat had an 18. I do know there must not be very many of them like rarer than hen's teeth, and you found a great pix of one. (Bet there isn't anything on this site you couldn't find.)

It would be interesting to know the evolution of/from 16 to 18 to 19. What went into the thinking and who was doing it then.

Joe, Thanks for those links. Really interesting, and from before I started spending much time on this site. Missed a whole boat. :roll

Have a great one Joe, and thanks again for keeping such good track of everything. :thup

(Harvey- There has to be at least some form of benefit for having been around these C-Dory sites for the last 18 years and accumulating 73 years of corrosion on the majority of my body and mind! Ha! Joe)

What listing? You mean Craigslist? Yeah, it's probably sold; that looked like a steal of a deal. Harvey, maybe you could call him if you want a definite answer.

On a side note: I can't stand when folks post a FS ad and then don't follow up with the status/inquiries etc. It's so frustrating. Maybe the mods should look into addressing that issue. There have been several in the past couple months who have done that.
I understand that some folks join C Brats solely to post a FS ad and don't really care about the group OR they just don't check the site very often. Either way it stinks! Lol.

Thanks for letting me vent! Hahaha

Checking the rules out (other thread), links to Craig's List are not allowed, anyway!

Yes, it's frustrating when posters join only to sell, don't do an ad right, and then don't follow up, etc. Boo...Hiss..!!! :thdown :sad

What is the rationale that a C brat forum user cant post a CL C Dory boat listing? I check All of Craig's List listings often for boats and stuff including C dory boats and didn't understand the reasoning and avoid posting any listings. Thick as a brick, I guess

thanks

Just to be clear...if you see a good deal on a C-Dory you don't own, at craigslist or somewhere else - we've typically no problem having a link posted here. There are exceptions, which we'll deal with on a case-by-case basis. For example, if a new account were to post a link to a C-Dory for sale at a dealer/broker - we'll blast it. That's an obvious attempt to get around our stricter rules regarding dealer sales, which are reserved for paying customers.

The rule Joe referenced is specific to the "For Sale By Owner" forum. Nothing belongs there that doesn't comply with the rules posted at the top of the forum.

Stuff clipped.

OK Jason, I did.

Jim sold that 18 C-Dory in hours. Had a 22 Bartender for several years prior to the 18, went back and bought his old Bar Tender back. Fishes out of SF Bay.
