Am thinking of selling my 2001 24' Tomcat. Twin 100 hp 4-stroke Yamaha engines. Boat is Gold Loop veteran, includes full canvases and screens, many extras. Any comments on a fair ball park price? No trailer, but could include 8' Porta-Bote w/3.5 hp Nissan engine. Located in central/west FL, St Petersburg area. Thanks for any feedback. Don 727 501-3633 or Linda 727 612-3250

The best place to look is the "Market place" A 1999, Tom Cat 24, with no trailer and 100 hp 4 stroke outboards which had less than 200 hours was listed for $42,000. It sold in about 2 months. We don't know all of the details of your boat or the other boat--however, they are very similar, except with over 8,000 miles your boat is probably going to have over 500 hours and closer to 1000 hours on the engines--(It may be better for the engines having been used, but buyers do not always recognize this.

In 2007 a 2002 24 was listed at slightly over 50K, with trailer, and prettily well loaded and about 100 hours on the 100 hp Yamaha's, complete with fuel management etc.

There was one which had questionable engine (turned out to be fine) which was listed for $35,000, but I believe sold for a few thousand less.

I was asked to appraise a 2002 Tom Cat 24 which was low hours, trailer, canvas, with the 115 Yamahas, and I put the value at $44,000 in 2009.

If your boat has an autopilot, refrigeration, windlass, newer electronics and good camper canvas, it may bring more than that. But if the boat has been bottom painted, kept in salt water, that may also depreciate the boat.

Not having a trailer is a negative--because used trailers for this boat are not common. A new trailer is gong to be somewhere in the 6K range--but Marc Grove may have a better price. Mark is not too far from you, and if you want him to market it, that might be and advantage to you. (Wefing's Marine in Eastpoint, FL)

Good luck on the sale….!
