It is with much sadness, but excitement for the next owner, that we list our beloved Nimbly Bimbly. My wife and I purchased this boat in September of 2022 when we lived in Worcester, MA. It was used for inshore and offshore fishing, sunset cruises, and weekend getaways (we sure miss Block Island and Martha's Vineyard). She never let us down. We now live in North Bend, WA and had dreams of continuing to cruise in the San Juan islands and fish the Columbia, Salish Sea, and great North Pacific. Sadly, the extra hour to trailer her most places means she has mostly sat (likely leading to the starboard engine problem described below). We fully expect to re-enter the C-Dory family one day, and I guarantee we will be waiting for another TomCat. Anyway, I could sing this boat's praises all day, but if you're here, you probably already know.
About the boat:
1) Loss of compression on starboard engine. Leakdown testing shows intake side leaking. My former-Honda (car)-mechanic friend helped me narrow the problem down to be most likely valve seat corrosion or head gasket failure. I specifically asked him if this is a head/valvetrain job or a powertrain replacement situation, and he thinks it is more likely a powerhead replacement situation.
2) The port engine has perfect compression on all four cylinders and just fired right up (video of idle and revs available). ~815 hours on both engines.
3) New batteries about two years ago.
4) Garmin MFD with chartplotting and very nice sonar with sidescan. I also have an extra screen that can be networked, but never got to that job (was going to mount a cockpit screen for viewing sonar while fishing). Original radar, which was potentially scavenged from an even older boat, because I think it's older than 2007. It works and I trusted my life with it making 0-dark-thirty runs to the tuna grounds. You should probably replace it, though. This boat deserves a new electronics suite.
5) Superior Wave Breaker 4-person life raft included at asking price. Due for re-pack as of this month.
6) Fresh interior detail.
7) Fresh exterior acid wash and gel coat rehabilitation. Looks gorgeous.
8) Triple axle, braked (electric-over-hydraulic), trailer included. Major overhaul at time of our purchase. Could definitely use a once-over.
9) Rights to the name included. You can avoid the re-naming curse and also own the very best named boat in existence. Gets comments EVERYWHERE.
I'll leave it at that. This is obviously not a turnkey boat, but is a well-loved and cared-for example that we want to see go to someone who will enjoy her much more often after addresing the motor. I am so happy to chat about this boat and answer any and all questions.
