2008 models

It seems that in past discussions, I recall some complaints about the newer boats - namely the 22's and particularly the 2008's. When I do a search, it gets so many hits I can't really find any of those remarks. Or am I just gettng older than I thought?

Any thoughts on 2008 models? I'm certainly not disparaging those models. I'm looking at one and just wondering if there is something in particular I should pay attention to.

By the way, I just got off Lake Powell and met very many fine C-Brats out there!

We have a 2008 CD22 - put 175+ hours on it this summer along with spending 5 weeks aboard with 4 of us.

Haven't had one problem - I'm not really sure how much can go wrong, they are pretty simple boats. It's more the electronics and engines, not the hull.

We love our 2008.

That's just what I wanted to hear! I hope you in no way took my question as an insult. It was just something nagging me that I thought I had read. I'll probably be joining you soon as a 2008 owner.

2008 models are more than likely good quality. Figure out when the Reynolds had two shifts going when they increased production from 4 boats a month to twenty boats a month. You should look those boats over carefully. If you have one built by day shift you should be OK. If the one you are looking at was built on night shift then be wary. The craftsmen with the most experience generally work the day shift. Bad things always happen on the night shift.

My 2008 has been fine so far; the problems on my boat came from poor rigging and the dealer refusing to honor written commitments to me by the salesman after he left and ...never mind.

Sea Coaster is fine; I just wish she were better at docking!

OK, I bit the bullet and bought the 2008 - now I've got a 2006 for sale, I think - or maybe we'll keep it for friends to use - gads, that would be a bad idea.

Thanks to all for the comments.
