It seems this may be the boat for us. What is the realistic trailer weight of a moderately equipped 24 TC?? What vehicles work for towing??

Couldn't find this for the 24 specifically in searches. TIA, Bob

I would think you would do best with at least a 3/4 ton vehicle.

If you're talking about the original 24 Tom Cat and not the new 255 Tom Cat I'd allow 8,000 pounds of all up towing weight (on the trailer with fuel, water and gear). Definitely a full-sized truck or large SUV with a long wheelbase. The weight of the TomCat is fairly high (from the ground) compared to most monohulls on the trailer and so it the the point of pressure from side winds and semi-truck wash...a good heavy tow vehicle is a must for long-distance hauling in comfort (meaing the pucker factor isn't high enough to wrinkle the seat covers).
