Air in Duramax fuel system

This is the second time in 3 months that my 2006 GMC Duramax has not started due to air in the fuel system. First time it was still under warranty by the used car lot I bought it from, they towed it and remedied the problem telling me they replaced the drain valve then reprimed the system, I wasn't too concerned and didn't have any more problems until yesterday. Yesterday I had it parked on a slight uphill incline in my driveway, just like the first time it happened. After about 15 minutes I went to restart it and it just cranked without any hint of firing. Yesterday and today again I have been using the vent and priming pump on top of the fuel filter to purge the air and having absolutely no luck. :amgry

Anyone with the Duramax have this trouble or heard of others with this problem?? Any suggestions before I go to the expense of a tow and dubious work from a shop will be greatly appreciated.

I had a 2001 Duramax and my neighbor has one as well. Never heard of the problem - and at the time I was very active in the Duramax specific forum on the web.

My suggestion is to go there and check around. Great bunch of diesel enthusiasts there.

Oh, and while I was looking up that site, I found my old "secret" site for genuine GM parts at a really good discount. gmpartsdirect.com started with a Chevy dealership allowing one of their mechanics to sell parts to the diesel forum bunch at a discount. He's since expanded tremendously.....

Thanks Don,

The "dieselpage.com" is a good site with lots of information. I was looking at another site called the "dieselplace.com". Maybe between the 2 of them I can figure something out.
