Anchor Buddy

I have been using an "anchor buddy" system when beaching up here in the PNW and have been pretty happy with it for picnic stops and short walks. So I thought I would share in case anyone else sees a use for it.
I don't think I would use it overnight. I have posted some picks in my anchor buddy Album.

Here is the whole system on my patio:

Here is the boat tied for a picnic stop:

Basically, you put a 50 foot loop parallel to the 15 ft anchor buddy (which basically has surgical tubing as a bungee) and then I have about another 125 feet to go the length of my boat and on to shore.
The system works as follows:

drop a stern anchor line with the anchor buddy system attached about 25-75 ft off shore

beach the boat and get people and stuff off...

while the boat is being held ashore, pull the slack on the stern line until the bungee is well stretched (the person holding the boat ashore will feel a strong tug!) and then tie the line on the stern cleat and then on the midships cleat.

Get yourself off the boat and then let the bungee take the boat out and tie the remaining line to somewhere on shore. The boat is held off shore by the anchor buddy bungee and yet is easy to bring back to the beach by pulling on the shore line.

Let me know if you have any questions!
