For a number of years Cannon Beach had it's own dory fleet that launched off the beach during the summer months in pursuit of the varied salmonoids but after the early 80's decline in fish numbers the group slowly reduced in numbers. That flat bottom brotherhood has been limited to about three boats max.
Today I found out that things are again on the move within the fleet and numbers are again beginning to climb. This time though it's not of the flat bottom launch off the beach variety but instead those made by a boat factory in Kent Washington.
Yep, we got another one. Today I found out our friends Bob and Nancy boat the 22'cruiser that was listed on E-Bay. Bob is headed to pick it up next week and he should have it home a week from tomorrow. That'll make three of us here in town so we may be headed to a sub-group. The guy I found out from is also looking at our little many facetted jewels so we could go to four and be a major player. Damn but it's good to have the dory fleet growing again.
