Russ lived in the northeast Philadelphia area. He had been drinking in a
bar in cherry Hill N.J. and had to drive Rt 73 across the Tacony Palmyra
bridge, which at the time cost $.10 to cross. Now Russ knew he had a few
to many and didn't want to attract any attention when he reached the
toll booth so he reached into his pocket and got his dime ready so that
he could quickly pay his toll when he crossed the bridge.
Later that evening, Russ's wife heard a car running in the driveway and
went outside only to find old Russ passed out behind the wheel.
Extremely agitated, she began banging on the window. Russ, clearly
startled, rolled down the window, handed his wife a dime and drove
through the garage door.

Come on, guys...That's Life was created just for the non-CD stuff. I hardly ever read this stuff, but sometimes it's nice to get a daily chuckle.

Personally, I enjoy some diversification of topics, humor included.

We are a friendly group of folks, and often our relationships go beyond discussing simple boating topics.

Additionally, it's nice to have some relief from discussing many of these cyclical topics over and over. I believe much of the impetus for diversifying into these other discussions as well as the insertion of off-topic posts in threads, comes from a need to escape the repetition that occurs constantly.

Overall, I feel the broader conversations make this a friendlier, more personable place.

Joe.

No problem folks, everyone has their opinion, and I respect others opinions. It's just that I don't spend time on this site to read jokes. They can be found on sites that are for that specific purpose. Actually, That' Life can only be viewed by registered viewers, so anyone not wanting to wade through the non C-Dory posts in TL can do so by not registering.

Where I work, because we are so distributed (dispersed throughout the world) and use email extensively, we came up with a way to distinguish work emails from non-work emails...we use the term "JUNK" in the subject line if the message is personal in nature. They can be quite serious subject matters, but since the subject line has "JUNK" in it, people know they can either skip it or filter it out.

For instance: "Junk: another story not checked form (sic) Snopes"

If someone was skimming through messages, s/he would know that this is not boating related.

The term "JUNK" is not the most subtle of word choices, but it works for us.

Just a thought...you always have the ability to NOT READ what is posted.
